Re: *Some* Instruments Without Sound

It might depend on the kind of patch. I find that e.g. the I7's SuperNatural drum set is much quieter than the legacy SRX card's "Dynamic Drums" set. Maybe this is in order to leave more headroom, since some patches might have greater dynamics?

Re: Isolating Instruments in a Studio Set for Quick Access

To quickly audition IIRC you can select the part on the main overview screen using the arrow keys, and then push the volume knob for the sound preview. It should play the currently highlighted part.

Re: Integra 7: Not working with iPad

(Just to confirm that the I7 wasn't the culprit: My above-mentioned MIDI timing woes turned out to be caused by a starved ESI M8U XL interface. It seems my docking station's USB hub ports did not provide enough power, and this interestingly translates into a messed up timing. Took a while to figure ...

Re: Integra 7: Not working with iPad

That's very interesting, thanks for the feedback! I'm really wondering what might be the cause then... maybe certain unlucky combinations of settings or SuperNatural sounds can cause this? I've got the latest OS version too. Probably I will have to perform some A/B tests to narrow it down.

Re: Compatibility with sequencing software

Nowadays it's mostly a matter of taste which DAW you prefer, they're all good in one way or another. I don't think any DAW is geared towards the I7 in particular. I'm used to Cubase since the Atari days. The versions I've worked with can export to midi file (if that is what you mean by "smf&quo...

Re: Can I find every tones from JV80 series boards in I-7?

You can check on my earlier post http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=45639#p283793 which SR-JV80 waves were included in the SRX boards. But the SRX boards do not contain the original SR-JV80 patches, only the wave samples. In the XV series, if you have the SRX board, you can load t...

Re: Integra 7: Not working with iPad

When I used "old School" 5 Pin DIN for the MIDI the timing gets all messed up (sequence may start out OK, but then the timing gets worse and worse. It's really true! Finally now I know what the issue is. In my case it just feels as if the machine gets clogged and starts stumbling over the...

Re: Integra 7 XV and SN synth compared to FG, JV and JP line

Yes, the SRX boards contain the JV-SR80 samples, but not their patches. Also, the following JV-SR80 were not re-released as SRX and are therefore missing in the I7: SR-JV80-01 Pop SR-JV80-03 Piano SR-JV80-07 Super Sound Set SR-JV80-09 Session SR-JV80-15 Special FX SR-JV80-17 Country So if you had ca...

Re: SRX -SR-JV patches

Yes, there was a CD by Roland included with the SRX boards containing patches for the XV series (not Fantom) so you can load the old SR-JV80 patches if you have specific SRX board installed. These were (my favorite ones are highlighted): SRX-06 Complete Orchestra containing SR-JV80-02 “Orchestral,” ...

Re: Strum Mode

Just got an I7 and was wondering too, but the Parameter guide manual thankfully states that strumming requires a "Hold pedal" (sustain) message i.e. you need a switch pedal (or simulate it e.g. via a sequencer). The pedal connected to my keyboard works fine for this. The pedal must be pres...
