3rd party patches

Hi guys.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party companies that offer patches for the VR-09B?

Thanks.

Leslie

So, back from another frustrating gig. May have had a couple beers. Had this thing over a year, read the manuals, searched the forums, but can someone tell me how to activate a decent leslie on any of the organ sounds? I sort of expect it on the mod knob, but when I push it up it's just an unpleasan...

Re: How are your FAs doing so far?

Hi all.

Yeah, generally happy with this synth, but I've yet to find a goto Hammond organ sound. I've got the EXP-02 expansion. What's your favourite?

Copy studio sets from backup

Hi Guys. Hoping you can help me here. Had a quick look in the manuals but am a bit confused. I've fiddled a bit with the effects on some tones, and I'd like to reset them to their factory settings. But I've also got a large number of studio sets which I want to keep. Can I: 1/ Just reset the tones t...

How to copy studio sets

Quick question (as I need an answer by tomorrow!): Is there a function to copy a studio set to another location? Can't see anything in the manuals, and if I just save the studio set to a different set number I can't retain the name of the original. No biggie I suppose but I need to move all my sets ...

Re: Are modern synths any good?

Thanks for some really thoughtful replies. I'm going to go with the FA-06 because I've run out of combis on the N364 (200 versus 512 studio sets on the FA). And there are loads of things I love about the FA. For instance the octave up/down buttons and particularly the split button. So easy to create...

Are modern synths any good?

OK so help me out here. I have owned a Korg N364 for about 18 years. Still gigging regularly with it. Since then, I've acquired (and sold, except for the FA-06 which I've just bought) the following keyboards: Yamaha MO6 Korg M50 Kurzweil PC3LE6 Korg Kronos (original) Roland FA-06 Now it may be that ...

Aftertouch/organ rotary effect

So, have posted a few questions as a potential FA-06 owner. Am now a proud owner! I have a question. Along with a number of you I will miss aftertouch. I currently use it just to bring in a fast rotary effect on my organ sounds (still gigging with a 15 year old Korg N364!). So I understand I can tri...

Tone Modify Knobs

Hi all. Potential FA-06 purchaser here. Have tried it out (3 times at Andertons, Guildford, UK - great shop, very friendly and helpful, but couldn't answer my question). I set the Auto Knob Reset to On, then went to a studio set, changed all the EQ knobs to something horrible, then, with the pads in...

Splits in studio set mode

Hi all. Still thinking about an FA-06. But I have a basic question which, despite reading the manuals and watching loads of demos, I'm still not quite clear on. So I've been playing in (amateur) bands for 35 years. I've never tweaked a sound in my life. Either it sounds good out of the box or it doe...

Newbie question - sound modify knobs

Hi there. Have poured through the manuals but I'm struggling to understand some of the workflow of the FA series. Basic question: if I twiddle with the sound modify knobs, can I save the results, or are they just for live play? If yes, what am I saving; tones or studio sets? Does it depend on which ...

Re: Studio sets - newbie question

Hi guys. One other (very specific) question to assist in my purchasing decision (I've made a few bad choices over the years). On p98 of the reference manual it suggests you can set pedal functions at studio set level, rather than globally. There's a list of all the available functions (including stu...

Re: How do people use the FA-06 live?

Thanks all for your really useful and comprehensive replies.

For those of you with the FA-08, how do you find the action? Anyone in a position to compare it with the RD 800?

And how do the piano sounds compare?

Thanks.

How do people use the FA-06 live?

Hi there. Potential new FA-06 owner here. Just wondering how you all set the keyboard up for playing live. Not interested in sequencer, samples or arpeggiator. Do you stay in Studio Set mode? Do you use the part select mode to select different sounds in a Studio Set? Or move around between Studio Se...
