Re: Key Touch REAL Problem
Thanks zibbe! I had never paid much attention to the velocity sensitivity of the patches and, yes, the sensitivity was turned way down. I did find this listed in the manual under keyboard shortcuts but as you say, this is really not obvious. I have the overlays on my board in which the shift functio...

Re: Roland Phantom X6 - Convert Styles from Korg-Yamaha
Hi Richard, welcome to the clan. This forum is not as active as it used to be, so I don't check it very often. Still here are some answers in reverse order. 2. I assume you have gotten the audio hooked up by now, but if not, you would connect the Fantom Output A left and right to the TV/CD inputs on...

Is VR-730 still good keyboard for organs?
I've recently gotten interesting in getting a keyboard with better organs than the various synths I've collected over the years. In looking around, the V-Combo VR730 caught my eye. It looks like it was introduced about 4 years ago. Is it still considered a good keyboard, or have others now supersede...

Re: Connecting KR107 to iMac
Hi Mike, Here are some basics which you may already understand. First, there are two kinds of data you can record into a DAW like Garage band. The first is MIDI data. This will be the sequence of keys that were pressed on a connected keyboard. The recorded midi data are then played back in Garage ba...

Re: Do YOU love Roland?
Yes, although I haven't bought any Roland gear since I got a JD-XA almost 6 years ago. Maybe "love" is too strong a word, my meter may have backed off to "like".

5 1/2 years! LOL
Shows how fanatical we can be about our Roland gear. Don't want to rush into risky behavior.

Re: Controlling E1 / E2 / E3 / E4 knobs from Logic X
Hi Chris, Don't know how far you have gotten on this. I am not an expert on Logic or Jupiter-80, but I got curious and found out this much. If you haven't done so already, look up "Tone Bender Control", page 61 in the OM. It looks like it can be assigned to at least one parameter, such as ...

Re: Select OSC via MIDI?
OK. Just found "JD-XA_MIDI_Imple_e01_W" hidden down deep on my hard drive. The answer is there. I've never constructed MIDI commands at the hex level before. This may be more pain that I am prepared for.

Select OSC via MIDI?
I've been ignoring my JD-XA for quite some time. Finally getting around to digging into it again. I've found the series of CC and NRPN MIDI messages that control just about all of the knobs and sliders. That is good. But it looks like there is no way to control the switches. I'd really like to contr...

Re: Legato portamento?
I know this is an old post, but I've gotten back to my JD-XA and saw this post. At first I thought it was kind of an unusual question but it turns out theJD-XA can do exactly what you are looking for. The only limit is that it only does it on the digital parts not the analog parts. Select a digital ...

I am stunned! Never really expected this, and to have a whole family of Fantoms just drop out of the blue along with the other new hardware. Don't ever bet on the horse I pick.

Re: I wish Roland would make a new Fantom
I wonder if the workstation we dream of has become such a big software design effort that a hardware company like Roland will no longer take it on? Thinking back on all the years of Fantom X and Fantom G posts, a large number of them related to software features rather than hardware. It must be diff...

Re: Polar White Overlays, Beautiful!
It does look great, windsmuse. I also just got a set in polar white as well but haven't installed them yet, other than to place them to see how it looks. It is a total transformation. Best of all, I can now actually read the labels! The red on black was almost impossible for me to see. Now I just ha...

Re: Should I buy a Jupiter 80 in 2017?
Actually you can turn off the MIDI channels. Normally each Part has one channel 1-4 and if you deactivate one the MIDI channel is off as well. But if you go to the External Part settings and activate e.g. the first MIDI channel, then it does not matter if you have one, all or no parts activated, it...
