Figured out my problem. It wasn't with the Hz, but with the bitrate. Adobe Audition defaults to 32 bit. I changed it to 24 per the manual and everything imported with no problem.

Now I have all the classic Prince percussion sounds on my pads! :-D

Yeah, heard those. I wasn't impressed but it might be the place to start. Prince was famous for the detuned rimshot sound, so there'd probably need to be some serious tweaking of the samples.

Yeah, I'm thinking that could be a really fun way to record some drum tracks. Hopefully, someone with some experience with this might have some suggestions on a good, but not extremely expensive controller, and how to map the sounds to the pads.
