Re: JD-Xi Overlays
I contacted Roland UK about the overlays for my JD-Xi and got a reply from them telling me that a I will have to email them a copy of my sales receipt and JD-Xi serial number then they will post overlays off to me. Is this normal practice? As I have been reading that other customers just asked and s...

Re: Roland s overlays.
I received the JD-XA overlays through the post a couple of weeks ago and they are very good and make my JD-XA look more like a real synth than a toy synth. The feel of the overlays reminds me of the panel on the original Yamaha DX7 where the membranes are and the panel on the Roland JX-8P.

Roland boutique polyphony
I am really interested in the VP-03 but how can Roland cram 6 note polyphony in the newest boutique the VP-03 yet the JX-03, JU-06 and JP-08 only gets 4 notes of polyphony? Surely the VP-03 has the same CPU power as the rest of the boutique synths. Maybe Roland can bring out firmware updates for tho...

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA
Just installed the free Roland overlays for the JD-XA. As far as I'm concerned, they look great and the price is right. The free overlays provide a huge improvement in legibility and reduction in reflected glare, fingerprints, etc. Thank you, Roland! I just ordered the free overlays from Roland UK....

Re: JD-XA AMP decay slider not working properly
Since I have 2 months left on my warranty, I sent my JD-XA back to my local music shop so they can send it back to Roland for repairs. Can anyone tell me how long does it take for Roland to repair synths and get back to my local music store?

Re: JD-XA AMP decay slider not working properly
I tried a factory reset but the problem still remains :( I can still adjust the amp decay with no problems when using the menu editing and pressing the curser buttons when adjusting the level. It's only when I go directly to the slider that I run into problems with the amp decay value number jumping...

JD-XA AMP decay slider not working properly
I bought a JD-XA about 10 months ago but I haven't been using it much. Anyway, I took it out the cupboard this evening but it was a bit dusty on the panels. I cleaned it up and switched it on only to find that the decay slider on the AMP section on the synths front panel doesn't work properly. When ...

The hiss can be reduced, or eliminated altogether:
System Setting [MANUAL] + [12]: adjust the noise level of Chorus
[1] OFF
[2] HALF
[3] ORIGINAL (default)
Thanks. This is awesome. :)

Extending polyphony question
I heard its possible to extend the polyphony of 4-note to 8-note if polychaining two JP-08 synths. My question is is it possible to polychain one JP-08 with one JU-06 to get 8-note poly or do the boutique synths have to be the same model?

Re: JX-03 strange background noise on chorus
Thanks for the reply. Glad it's just a recreation of the noisy chorus on the original JX3P. For a moment I thought I had bought a defective unit.

JX-03 strange background noise on chorus
I recently bought the JX-03 as well as the mini keyboard and enjoying the retro sounds. However I can hear a strange hissing background noise whenever chorus is switched even with no notes playing. Is this normal?

Thanks for confirmation that the filters are supposed to sound like that. It's given me peace of mind. Cheers :)

Roland JD-XA filter issue
I recently bought a Roland JD-XA synth and its an impressive piece of kit. However, when I use LP3, HPF and BPF and turn the resonance right up to maximum and adjust cutoff, the filter breaks up and has a bubbling sound. On a demo video from sonicstate, the presenter had this problem too but he said...
