Re: SMF

I know this Keyboard doesn’t support GM/GS, so, I loaded all of the Standard MIDI Files on the thumb drive and from the Fantom 08, I’m sending them to a Roland Sound Canvas, (I did the same thing with the older FA 08 because the GM sounds were not great). One issue I’m having with the Fantom 08 is ...

Re: SMF

Hello Flavio!
Transmit Program Changes from the Fantom is turned ON.
This whole thing is just frustrating and Roland is of no help.

This has always worked, flawlessly with all other Roland keyboards I’ve owed, but the Fantom 0 is a downer.

Thank you for the reply.

Re: Re-ordering FA-08 studio sets alphabetically

Meanwhile the FA users are left with nothing. Again. Try this thread. Toonpas is using OnSong and if I understood him correctly, I think it works. I can’t figure it out for the life of me and I gave up. Maybe a video tutorial might have helped. http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=...

Re: Rearranging Songs In Alphabetical Order

I don’t know if it is of help to you. But I connected the FA with my iPad and are using OnSong to rearrange the songs in a set list featuring within OnSong. Works great very easy for live gigs. Hi Toonpas, Can you elaborate more, please? I took a peak at OnSong and from their videos, it seems to be...

Re: Rearranging Songs In Alphabetical Order

As a gigging Fantom X7 owner, I was disheartened when I discovered that my FA-07 would not list songs or live sets in alphabetical order. I wrote to Roland making the suggestion but so far there is no easy solution. Very disappointing. I have over 250 setups for individual songs on my X7 and I can ...

Re: All I want to do is load a midi file into my FA-08!

Hi again, No, I have about 300 songs (in midi) loaded/running using same number of Studio sets ( one bespoke for each song). I would think the 200 limit is just limited by how many it can 'sort through for loading' at any one time. I have just checked and I find that there are 999 slots for storing...

Re: All I want to do is load a midi file into my FA-08!

You can not just install the midi files into the song folder, yes, one reason is a different format but the song needs to be put into the FA's library so its needs to be named, referenced and links from the song to its appropriate Studio Set. Understood! Even more relevant is that sporting a midi f...

Re: All I want to do is load a midi file into my FA-08!

Hi GSPro, I think if you copy the SMF files into the SONGS folder, they won't be shown up when you load a SONG. The SONG files are are somehow coded by Roland internally and you only have access with the LOAD SONG menu. So, you have to IMPORT SMF and WRITE SONG for each single file. Or use more SD ...

Re: All I want to do is load a midi file into my FA-08!

Should be possible to load from IMPORT and write each midi song into the FA's SONGS folder, erase SD card and load the next bunch of SMF. I think the amount of songs is only limited to the SD card size, which could be probably 64 GB. But for shure it is a lot of work to load and write 200 files... ...

Re: All I want to do is load a midi file into my FA-08!

You can import an SMF into a song, and handle the imported SMF as a song. MEMO • Before you continue, copy the SMF from your computer into the “IMPORT” folder of the SD card. • A maximum of 200 files in the “IMPORT” folder can be recognized. 1. Access the SONG UTIL MENU window 2. Move the cursor to...

Re: SD-50 sysex for reverb type???

Hello forum, I saw this thread and thought I'd pitch in, even though, it's somewhat resolved. Yes, the reverb default (Large Hall) on the SD-50 it's too much and it'll default back to Large Hall every time the SD-50 is turned back on. Below is an example: Per the SD-50 "MIDI Implementation Char...
