Re: How to make the JD-Xi battery-powered

Hi, this is a small update after almost four years... If you check the original blog post you can see that there were some bad side effects (not harmful though) of the hack. For the benefits of others I want to share another solution that I found: http://myvolts.com/product/46110/Power_Supply_and_Ch...

How to glue broken keys

I did a small write up here on how I repaired a broken key on my JD-Xi using super glue and baking soda (?):

Hope it might help anyone.

Re: Build of JDXi

Hi, After some years, one of my keys broke too. It's still early days but I think I have managed to glue it in place using a special trick where you combine superglue with baking soda (?). The break was quite clean and, after some "dry" practice I first glued the key back with super glue (...

Re: Working PC Editor for SN-S tone

Does the JD-XI have parts? Yes. I have both synths and from what I understand they are using the same SN-S engine. A big difference with the Xi of course is that it has an analog part too (with simpler/fewer parameters than each of the digital parts). Sorry, was too quick there. I was thinking you ...

Re: Working PC Editor for SN-S tone

Hi there! I know, it's low cost ... It's ugly... And not nice at all... but works on PC/Windows10x64! It's need an installed JRE8 or above on your system... and nothing else. I can't test it on OSX, but there is some chance to work on MAC too, becouse the low level parts of the application are JAVA...

Re: Can I make a song load up with a Studio Set?

I know we've been over this before, but I've forgotten. I think if I load a Song, the studio set that is associated with it will be selected as well. Yes. Which I think is quite logical. It would have been a pain if you had to remember which SS was needed for a certain song to play right. But can y...

Re: Arpeggio and Rhythm Patterns Confined to Track 1

Thanks for the reply I see the columns in part view under the keyboard tab but cannot even access them to switch them on. I try to but it just moves to level/pan tab. The only ones lit up for kbd and arp are for part one. If I can clarify my situation any more for anyone please let me know. Thank y...

Re: Mute Groups for Sample Pad

Hello everyone. I am not able to find mute group of sample pad so that if I hit pad 2 pad 1 automatically stops playing. Also if you can help me find if there is a way to change tempo of the wav samples like we are able to do it in Fantom G. Thanks in advance. If I understand you correctly, you can...

Re: FA-08 endless encoder knobs?

The red ring around the encoders are super misleading. The industry norm is that if a pot/encoder is not continuous, that is, it has a start and end point, then it is normally marked with dots... But FA series didn't respect that norm... You mean something like this: http://i66.tinypic.com/143l5og....

Re: Basic synth structure of FA-08?

Awesome thread, especially the replies from Steve :) I just want to add that, if you have little room for Integra patches in user memory, you can always keep the "source" patches (the files you download from Roland) on your SD card, ready to import when you need them, and overwriting patch...

Re: New FA-06/08 synth editor for PC

Hi all, Since I also own a Roland JD-Xi I happen to know someone made an excellent editor for the Xi. Since that synth too uses SuperNatural Synth sounds, perhaps it would not be hard to make it support the FA? Whoever is interested can learn more about it here: http://jdxi-manager.linuxtech.net/ Th...

Re: DIY MIDI controller for the JD-Xi

Nice work so far! 6-8 pots is probably best for something like this. That way you have enough to cover A,D,S,R,depth, and velocity response for the envelopes, and with too many pots it gets bulky and confusing. Building it into a strip the width of the JD-Xi and mounting it to the back so it "...
