Re: Questions about my new FA-08
Here is my two cents. Caveat - I haven’t used Garageband in years though. MainStage is terrific for live play. For recording? Not so much. You can capture loops and stuff, but not put together a musical piece like you can in GarageBand. For live play - MainStage is tough to beat. You can mix in soft...

Re: D50 style sounds in the JDXa?
There are a couple (maybe more) threads that discuss D50 patches available for the JD-XA. Here are a couple:

Re: JDXA BKMs 1.2 manual
Hi, could somebody please re-upload the BKMs 1.2 manual? All of the dropbox links in the threads on here are dead. Thanks! This is free to share -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/dyvjqlj4tor63zv/JDXA%20BKMs%201.3.docx?dl=0 and while I havent updated it in quite a while, it has a few more items than my v...

Aftertouch.. FA-06.. external controller (yes)
I picked up a Novation SL MKIII recently, and have been mapping hardware gear to it. The SLMKIII came pre-mapped for OB-6, BigSky, Peak (which i use) and a ton of other gear.. but not for the Roland gear I have ( FA-06 and JD-XA). I've not been using my FA-06 too much recently, but the SL MKIII has ...

These are excellent! Your YouTube demo is great also. They're well balanced, and sound fantastic. I don't know all the tunes, but the splits and layers sound fantastic for lots of stuff. Thank you for sharing.

Re: Setting up JD-XA in Logic X.
Hi JFane. I have my JD-XA piped into Logic Pro, without issue. IIRC, I had double-notes happening early on also - and had to dink around with the settings to get that stopped. Unfortunately, we're moving, and my gear is boxed up for a few weeks.. Sorry I can't help directly. Going by memory though -...

Re: New Axial - Celestial Spheres
Thanks for the heads up cello! There are some excellent tones in here! I really appreciate the 'notes' file that is included. It opens up the sounds, hugely. A lot of detail went into explaining how to get the most out of these patches.. Again - excellent stuff!!

Re: My JDXA is falling apart sound wise
Sorry to hear you're having issues Richard. There is a megathread on this issue here: -> http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?t=50556&f=57 At least one person on that thread (2nd page), was able to get free post-warranty support from Roland. Would be worth contacting them, if you haven't a...

Re: missing tones?
Just got my FA-08. Looking at the SoundList pdf, i see tones that don't show up. Are they counting on installing more of the tones off the axial page, or is there some filter that's on by default? As an example I see a trombone at # 261 which I would expect to see under brass on the keyboard but it...

I found, using MIDI Monitor (Mac) by Snoize, helps debug MIDI problems immensely. If possible, put something in your MIDI stream for watching messages.

Re: Couple of questions before buying
The 2.0 release for the JD-XA last year incorporated "Tone Remain" which gives the ability to switch sounds seamlessly, with note effect tails. Well that spooked me ? .... JDXA is still 1.5 latest ? LOL... was not paying attention. I have an FA-06, which had a 2.0 update recently with &qu...

Re: Couple of questions before buying
This is not viewed as a problem for you guys? Any workarounds on roland? I'm actually hopeful that Roland will release a patch for this at some point. The 2.0 release for the JD-XA last year incorporated "Tone Remain" which gives the ability to switch sounds seamlessly, with note effect t...

Re: Free FA Overlays from Roland
Nice! Three days later... the overlays showed up. They look every bit as good as the JD-XA overlays... and seem to be made of the same material, and are installed the same way. I.E. Remove the four 'stickie' covers from the corners, and just lay in place. My JD-XA overlays have held up well / and ha...
