Re: Roland D-50 Plugout on the Horizon?

The chance of a D-50 plug-out is close to zero. The System-8 is an analog modeling box. The programming interface for the D-50 is completely different and does not map to the standard controls found on analog polysynths. As someone else mentioned, other classic Roland ANALOG synths will become avail...

Re: System 8 as midi controller for Integra 7

The System-8 lacks aftertouch, so using it as a MIDI controller for something as advanced as the Integra-7 wouldn't make much sense. If you can live without aftertouch, well then, perhaps you'll be fine with it.

transfer patches from V-Synth XT to D-550

Hey,

Wondering if anyone has directly transferred patches from the D-50 card in their V-Synth XT to a D-550? Or did you go through a computer software editor first?

Also, can individual patches be transferred, or must you do the entire bank of 64 sounds at a time?

Re: Roland D-50 Plugout on the Horizon?

I don't think Roland needs anything more to make or break the System-8. In one box now, even if you don't fill the third plug-out slot, you have three synths: a System-8, a Jupiter 8, and a Juno 106. Each of these sounds fantastic, and significantly different from one another. And, you can make spli...

Re: Is it time to sell my 106?

Can you live with only 49 keys? If not, keep the 106. If this doesn't bother you, then a System-8 with the 106 is really fantastic. It sounds like a real 106, but adds some extra capabilities, like the step sequencer, for example, and I think a second oscillator (trying to recall offhand, can't conf...

Is my V-Synth XT mic input broken? VC-2 problems.

Hi XT users. I just picked up what seemed to be an excellent condition XT. I have installed the 2.02 software, full factory reset, etc. V-Synth sounds and the D-50 VC-1 work perfectly. I can't get the mic to work, and more troubling is that virtually none of the vocal designer patches make any sound...

Re: My "new" V-Synth XT won't boot up!

Try this... 1. Go to Roland website and download V-Synth XT Version 2.02 update here: http://roland.com/support/article/?q=downloads&p=V-SYNTH%2FXT 3. Straightforward steps included with the download to connect a USB cable, copy the downloaded update files to the V-synth, which mounts on your co...
