None taken, cos I'll be honest I have NO idea wtf my post is doing in this thread either lol. Completely off topic. I think I meant to post it in another thread I had open in a tab and... user error.

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA
Well musical, creative and w/e he may be, but so am I an d when I sell things (ebay etc) I make sure communication to buyers is given top priority. There is nothing more important (other than health/family death) than communicating properly with someone who has given you money in good faith. He woul...

Re: I can't bring myself to like the JD-XA - I'm selling it.
IMHO and FWIW ... I found myself extremely frustrated by the lack of good, musical factory patches present on the JD-XA. This was somewhat mitigated by the OS 1.5 release and new factory patch set which came with it, but I still found much of that material lackluster and uninspiring. In that respec...

Re: Probably preaching to the choir ...
all good ideas ! (well , for the sounds: a VennD68 & EBDA1176 soundsets (and some others) would also be great if Eric P is not at disposal ;) but i also like many of the stock sounds, same for the Axial banks ) :) I was EBDA1176 (stood for "everybody deserves an 1176") over at gearslu...

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA
While I'm happy (so far) with my glossy originals, as I'm not a fan of the white text on these and the Roland new panels, I do think the Synthgraphics panels look nicer than the new Roland ones. The Jupiter style looks cool and is still RED. Roland missed a trick there. Also, someone should do scree...

Re: Jarre Has One
Lets be honest here, the reason Numan, Rhodes and Jarre have these is because ROLAND send them to them for free. Even much lesser known artists get sent these products for free (in fact I bought my JD-XA off one such guy for VERY cheap due to having not cost him a penny ;) am talking less than half ...

Re: The supersaw oscillator
All sounds good (system 8) but the reality hits me after a while that I'm using digital to do an analog job, and it NEVER feels the same. It won't be as good as the DCOs in the JD-XA (or the VCOs/DCOS of the originals). The plug out plug ins are GREAT soft synths certainly but as software they make ...

Re: OS update coming soon?
I admit I'm not a fan of any of the presets, or any of the released Roland sounds for it. They all border on insipid/weak and make the synth sound, frankly, crap next to other analogs or great digitals (like V-Synth). Thankfully I, and most of us here I guess, know how to program synths and in no ti...

Re: Power Up/Screen Issues
Lots of research points to this being a common flaw, based on temperatures in your room, and affects many roland synths with screens. For the most part it seems to be ok for most people, and something you live with. Mine isn't too bad today, turning on instantly 4 times out of 5 that I've tried it t...

Re: V-Synth randomly won't turn on straight away
Anyone ever experience this? it seems the longer it's left alone the longer it takes to turn on. Original V2 V-Synth. Have tried reuploading V2 firmware, factory reset, new patches etc... nothing has fixed it thus far so not a software error. For example if I turn it on and off (when it's been on O...

Re: Power Up/Screen Issues
10 years later, I just posted about this issue on here then found this thread. Does anyone who posted in this thread have any details about this problem? did it turn out that it was a dying screen, was it always random but livable, was there any fixes? It's happening to me on an original V-Synth (no...

Re: V-Synth randomly won't turn on straight away
Ok, further testing shows that when the screen comes on finally - say after 8 seconds, the loading of the samples (project) is around half way through, so clearly it IS getting power at switch and booting up. So it appears it's a screen issue, the screen is taking a long time to power on/light up ev...

Re: JDXA still sounds beautiful like no other synthesizer.
Echo all that's being said here, wonderful unique and beautiful sounds abound with this machine, if you dig in and program it. Similar to the guy above, I'll often leave a held pad/sequence running while I browse the net and it sounds so nice I don't get tired of it. Only a few synths have been like...

Re: My New JD-XA arrived.. Yay
Have found the JD-XA a joy to program, had loads of various analog and digital synths but XA is very well laid out considering the depth. The menus are logical and not too deep either. And it is most definitely not "meant" for making organs, pianos and such (even though you can) it's a syn...
