Ensure 808 timing is off.

Also, check swing is not on, that messes with the steps.

Re: Boss RC-505: Input Level INST knob question
That's very strange... The Inst Level knob has always worked for me for the L/R instrument inputs. If you turn it all the way up with your keyboard making a sound, does the level light come on, showing the signal getting too loud? The AUX does is not affected by the knobs, this is by design. You can...

Re: MC 909 Noob
The electribe sampler 2 can play up to 24 notes of polyphony, BUT some effects voice steal. The sequencer is very easy to use and tightly timed. With 240 seconds of sampling it's not for long loops or phrases. You can use x0x, step or live recording on it, you can play all of the 16 channels at once...

Re: MC 909 Noob
If you want seamless genuine loops that all stay in time sync, it's hard with the sp555 unless you use something like Audacity to trim the loop to mathematically fit within a bar or x bars. It doesn't keep loops in sync itself. The best tool for perfect loop sync is the Boss RC505. The Command Stati...

Re: MC 909 Noob
You can quantize on the sp555, but the lack of grid edit is painful for tight patterns unless you've got decent timing. The Proteus 2000 architecture (which the Command Station is based on) is four sample layers per voice, each with envelopes for each, smooth z plane filters. The pads are huge on th...

Re: MC 909 Noob
Command Stations have no sampling, they're 32 track ROMplers. The screen is tiny but the sequencer is very well implemented. The sp555 is a pure live sampler, the sequencer is rudimentary at best, one effect at a time, no timeslicing, time stretching is pretty limited. It's fun as it has practically...

Re: Question about 505
I presume you're talking about the Boss RC505. I don't know about computer syncing, but you can have different length loops per phrase, you have to set it in the phrase. Auto will make it the same as the first phrase. You can completely un-sync them if you wish by turning loop sync off, but unless y...

Go to the System menu, across to USB Audio, change to Routing: Loop In. The next page is the USB Audio in level.

Re: ROLAND TR-8 MALFUNCTION HELP!
Apologies in advance if you've tried this already. You have to ensure the effect is assigned to the instrument in question. http://blog.dubspot.com/roland-tr-8-tips/ this is pretty good for all your effects needs.

Re: Effects in RC505
The supplementary manual explains this. You're forced into certain chaining options in multi mode. All of the effects are available, but on different slots. Some combinations cannot be used due to the processing power required. Once you're used to it, it's not too bad. The worst limitation IMHO is w...

Re: Boss RC 505 USB Sync Cable/Gen Gear
It's just a regular USB type B cable, like you would use for a printer. USB is a standard, don't over think it. The RC505 is mass-storage class and thus doesn't need special drivers IIRC, you just get a nice directory structure to copy stuff to/from. It also sends USB MIDI so you can sync with other...

This is done by a bank select. It's under "Control Change" in the midi implementation.

Re: RC505 inputs
Have you checked the track pan? If it is panned left, it will sound like that. Otherwise, L+R input automatically becomes stereo on the rc505

http://www.boss.info/support/by_product/rc-505/updates_drivers/6614 For your downloading needs. There's a manual supplement available also. It looks good... Re: Edirol CG8 Freezes on Boot
I solved my own question/request... For future reference of other GC8 users (both of them). I took out the HDD and put it in a £5 IDE USB enclosure. I used GParted (which is a Linux partition editor you can boot from a USB). The swap partition was corrupt, as it was the swap and not any useful data,...
