Re: Recreating Studio Sets with SysEx

To select Tones or Studio Sets in the Integra-7, use the following standard MIDI protocol for selecting sounds: Bank Select MSB (CC00) Bank Select LSB (CC32) Program Change (PC) The following messages are used to select the 64 Studio Sets: MSB = 85 LSB = 0 PC = 1-64 You must transmit these messages ...

Re: Fanton and Integra 7 duplicative?

It is amazing what the Fantom left out! Most of this should be available for Fantom soon or later. Why? Roland never updated the FA-series to include all of the Integra-7 SN. 2000+ FA vs 6000+ Integra. Why do you think that their treatment of the Fantom-series will be anything different? Furthermor...

Re: Are There Any Good Integra 7 Tutorials ?

Yes, and while you're back to manuals, there are other related manuals for you to check out. I own an FA-08 and the setup is very, very similar. It did take a some time to get both my Integras wired even with the vast amount of knowledge I've consumed. When will it stop? Anyway, the FA-08 manuals ma...

Re: What do you think will be the end of the Integra 7?

I think so. I recently bought 2 Integra-7's.
I guess that means I have 10.2 surround...
"twice as good as 5.1". 🙂

Re: Still a good buy?

I use my FA-08 a little differently than most. I have a WX5 wind-synth along with the weighted keys... best of both worlds. I also have two other keyboards. So along with real instruments, I add what I don't have into midi sequences. The FA-08 sounds good, real good! Mixing in other brands of keyboa...

Re: Need Some Help Sequencing a Bunch of Songs

I'm not super friendly with my FA-08, but will be soon. Everything you've said sounds right... don't know why reaper, everything can be done in the fa (avoiding transfers), but if that's what you're familiar with... The sequencer does have a click track -- possibly run through sub out, or use midi c...

Re: Can you append songs with the sequencer?

Inside the editor you can copy midi tracks and append them,
but it's a little painful to keep track of everything.

External software is much easier to use.

Re: Play wav sounds on keyboard

ok. the first part is covered.

moving onto playing a vst (not on, but) through the keyboard.

fa midi -> pc vst
pc audio -> fa

that is the only way I know of, other than what has been discussed.

edit: nice thing is you only need to use one (usb) cable.

Re: downloading mp3s into the FA 08?

It's actually quite easy to do, but not if you're not a keyboard or midi synth player. You might need to find somebody to play the keyboard and record the midi files, and you're done. :) I'd shop around... fivver? -- I don't know. A band with no keyboard player. I'd find one if possible. edit: anyon...

Re: Toraiz SP-16: the spiritual drum companion of the JP-80?

For the price I'd get an FA-06 for $300 cheaper.

I can't believe the price this is selling for, then again I'm a musician and not a DJ.

I own the FA-08 and a lot of what's listed reminds me of it.

Re: FA-08, motif or krome???

I own the FA-08 and really like the weighted keys. They just feel good to me. And the unit's not that heavy to move around if necessary. I have heard a lot about arps on the MOX's though. Yamaha is one I don't have yet. First was Casio workstation, then Triton LE, then Roland FA-08. Still have all t...

Re: FA Series Hammond tones revisited

...Instead of lugging my Hammond XK3c... Even the FA-08 is lighter than 50 lbs. You can set up multiple organs using a studio set and cursor between them in addition to the S1/S2 switches and other assignable controls. Of course there are other uses as well. The sounds are good. I would imagine the...

Re: Help please! Fa 06 Studio set.

That doesn't seem right? You might want to try doing a backup first, then a factory reset: https://www.rolandus.com/support/knowledge_base/201978649 I did one when I first got my FA-08... Like tonight for example. I recorded a hybrid song midi+audio and wanted to dump the midi files out to waves. S...

Re: FA Editor

Can somebody check the JP edtor if it has a WRITE button. If so, it would be good to Midi-monitor the sysex commands, so we can check if we can write to the user memory. It is for shure a secret memory location and value. Benny I'll have a go at monitoring my FA08 to see if I can capture the SysEx ...
