Re: Importing my custom XV-5080 patches?
Hi I wrote a conversion program from XV to FanS/FanX to SonicCell that also took into account a lot of the SR-JV80 card's waves that were copied to SRX cards. Roland seemed to constantly change the DAC and output circuits as well as the compression encoding for the waves on later models, so there i...

XV to Fantom custom patch conversion
Hello, With a view of downsizing my setup, I bought a Sonic Cell (which I believe runs on Fantom-X engine) to replace my XV-5080. I was hoping I could somehow import all my custom-made XV-5080 patches into the Sonic Cell, exporting the formers as SMF files using the official editor. That did not wor...

Re: Import patches from XV-5080 hardware to Cloud
Maybe this site can help you? From what I understand you'll need to export a bank from the XV-5080 hardware and then use the Python script to convert it to the Roland Cloud XV-5080 bank. Edit: Forgot the link :D https://www.python-blue.com/blog/sound-design-ramblings-rolandcloud-sysex-conversion Th...

Re: Import patches from XV-5080 hardware to Cloud
Hi. Try here. difficultaudio.com Hope it works. Hi, thanks for your reply. Just gave it a try and unfortunately this tool does not recognise the XV-5080 sys format, as I feared it would because of all the extra features of the XV-5080. You'd think Roland would have thought of offering this kind of ...

Import patches from XV-5080 hardware to Cloud
Hello, I'm thinking about selling my hardware XV-5080 to get the Cloud VST version, but I have loads of patches that I have created and saved onto a memory card over the years. I was wondering if it is at all possible to import these patches into the software version (they are .svd files but I can a...

Syncing DIF-AT box to sound card via ADAT
Hello, Just bought a DIF-AT box to interface between my XV-5080 and my sound card (an RME Raydat) via ADAT. I'm trying to figure out if ADAT synchronisation of the DIF-AT to my RME can be achieved via the optical IN cable (like most ADC would allow) or do I absolutely need to use the SYNC (D-sub 9 p...

Re: JD990, XV5080 and DAC
“But it just occurred to me that modules like the XV 5080 offer digital outputs as well as the regular jack outputs. If I'm not mistaking, these digital outputs (R-bus, Coaxial and Optical) should bypass the unit's internal DAC converter and thus send an "unaffected" signal, right?” I saw...

Re: is it normal for display to glitch when booting up? (XV
Mine has been doing the exact same for the 2 years I've had it now, without any impact or degradation over time. I'd believe this is perfectly normal then.

Re: New Boutique - JU-06A
I'm going to buck the current trend on the internet by not complaining: I like this new JU-06A Boutique, missed the -06 last time and have had great fun making music with my other Boutiques! Yay! Make music, have fun and be kind. All the old second hand JU-06 are gonna tumble down in price, might b...

So is that it with the Boutique line?
Roland haven't had any new Boutique synth released for over 2 years now. Do we have to assume they've moved on?

Can't use custom samples on my XV-5080
Hello, I'm having some trouble getting my custom samples to work on my XV-5080. The samples have been loaded onto a 128 MB Smartmedia card that has been formatted by the 5080. I can preview the samples no problem in the Disk menu, and I am able to load them onto the SIMM (128 MB) without any error m...
