Yes, copy function in pattern edit is only for notes copying. To copy the whole pattern just save it into another empty memory slot with different name for recognition.

Yes, You can. If you press the "mix in" button ((sampling section) on the front panel, you will se the pop up with the input settings, just set main stereo input to MIX1 or COMP, and like StephenM said, apply effects serial routing in Effect tab. You can now sampling with applied effects.
