Re: Great roland clan is BACK
Yes the roland clan forum can be a bit slow sometimes when loading, but I'm just glad it exists.

Re: Packaged driver for VariOS and OG V-Synth - Windows 10
Hi howesnickhowes. What version of the V-Synth do you have as you only describe it as "OG V-Synth" (what does OG mean?). I can't really comment on getting the VariOS or V-Synth to work in Windows 10 however there is the following topic on getting the drivers working for a Fantom-X, so I im...

Re: Great roland clan is BACK
I second that Robbie. It is good that Roland Clan Forums is back. It is one of the best discussion areas on the internet for Roland products young and old. If any newbies or others are worried about replying to topics, there is nothing to fear, someone who has solved your problem may help. Just ask ...

The most annoying thing about the Sonic Cell editors
The one thing I find most irritating about the Sonic Cell is when using the standalone or vst editors! The choosing and auditioning of a waveform is so protracted. You have to move the mouse four times to select a waveform and then commit to memory with a click of the mouse. This is so time wasting ...

Re: Importing my custom XV-5080 patches?
Hi Royce I am fascinated by the program you have created to convert XV sounds ultimately to SonicCell ones but I was wondering would it be possible to convert the basic banks of the XV (i.e. no srx cards involved) directly to Sonic Cell format? There are so many good sounds in the XV it would be gre...

Fantom-XR VST not required
When choosing a roland midi module I looked towards the Sonic Cell over the Fantom-XR because it had a standalone and more importantly a VST editor. I thought the VST editor would be able to control the parameters of the Sonic Cell via cubase while playing live. Unfortunately this didn't work becaus...

Re: Using Sonic Cell with the VST Editor
Aha.. seems I have solved my problem or found a workaround at least. Simply create a midi track in Cubase and set it to output midi to the Sonic Cell. Then use the standalone Sonic Cell editor with all the midi inputs and outputs set to Sonic Cell and the Sonic Cell can be controlled perfectly when ...

Using Sonic Cell with the VST Editor
My goal when using the Sonic Cell as a sound module was for it to be controlled by the Sonic Cell VST editor in Cubase 4. This was so I could edit the current patch/performance in realtime whilst playing along to the track. I created an instance of the Sonic Cell VST editor and then a Midi track to ...

Re: Sonic Cell Master EQ
It appears that the "Master EQ" is seperate from the Mastering effect. Although there is no control over it via the Sonic Cell editor the settings can be changed via the Sonic Cell hardware and then saved using the editor simply by pressing the "Write" button while in the "S...

Sonic Cell Master EQ
When the Sonic Cell is in either Patch or performance sound mode, when you press the "Midi Inst" button you get a "Master EQ" screen. Is this seperate from the Mastering section available through the Sonic Cell Editor?

Re: Using Sonic Cell VST Editor
I've solved my problem now. I found that once the VST editor is installed all four boxes of the menu item Setup/Set Up Midi Devices need setting to "Roland SonicCell" which is slightly different to my setup in the Standalone editor.

Using Sonic Cell VST Editor
Has anyone got the Sonic Cell VST Editor working correctly in Cubase 4? I thought I'd be able to play the sounds while editing the synth parameters but this seems to be impossible. If there's a solution please could someone point me in the right direction. I'm using Cubase 4 as the host as the manua...

Re: Sonic Cell Editor v1.20 menu display question
Having taken the plunge and bought a Sonic Cell 1.20 I was pleasantly surprised that the selection of patches has been made a lot easier in the Roland Sonic Cell editor v1.20. The patches can now be stepped through one by one without having to confirm the selection, so previewing them is a lot less ...

Re: 'Card not ready!' Fantom X6
Hi BigJazza. Out of interest what is the size of your Compact Flash card. I ask because in my Fantom XR I found that I couldn't make a "User Backup" with a 4GB card due to the card being too large. To solve I changed the size of the partition on the card down to 1GB and strangely the "...

Re: What's the biggest CF card the Fantom-X(R) recognizes?
To test if the Transcend 4gb compact flash was too big as detailed in my previous post I re-partitioned it to have a first partition of just less than 1gb and guess what? I was able to do a user backup with no problems. In conclusion I think a 4gb card is too big to be fully useable. To be sure, I r...
