If you installed the driver while system 8 was connected via usb. Try to unistzll the driver, then reinstall without S8 connected.

When you are powering the system8 while pushing KEY TRIG button to put it in system update mode, is the usb cable already connected ?

It needs to be connected Only after entering the update mode.

Should be the midi device id. you don’tneed to change it unkess you use more than one mx1 and some cases (sysex for example)
