Re: What should I know before buying a JD-XA? (my first synt
As a synthesizer JD-XA is an outstanding machine without a doubt. I cannot see that many bugs in there to call it "super buggy". It's definitely not. There was a well known hardware "bug" when some cracks popped out in the sound for some reason but one was acknowleged by Roland a...

Re: Can you create 808s with the system 8
Yes, sure you can. Take a Triangle oscillator, then bring both Attack & Sustain down to zero in the AMP envelope. Then make short Release there as well and there you go! Now you can add some Pitch Decay with positive envelope to give the sound some colour. So now you can start slightly increasin...

Re: When will a System 8 replacement launch?
Cause Roland delegated many of D50 and JV1080 features to JD-XA already. So the idea to use System 8 for the same purpose looks somewhat pointless.D-50 and JV-1080 are just not a good fit for the System-8

Re: Transferring sounds newbie question
Once you've got your JD-XA plugged to a computer via MIDI (either JD-XA's usb or another way) you need to launch JD-XA librarian software and specify your JD-XA MIDI input/output connection in the Setup/Setup MIDI Devices... Then if you have .xal file downloaded from Roland Axial you have to open it...

Re: Sequencing JD-XA with external midi sequencer
I'm not sure what exactly your problem with JD-XA is but you can set any part of it to any MIDI channel you like. In a nutshell you can set either all the parts or just some selected ones to the same channel at a time in there.

Re: How to initialize a pattern in JD-Xi?
It all depends on what you mean by "initial". If you want to clean up the sequencer then just erase all the tracks via shift+erase combination. If you're after initial tone of a digital section then go to FX and scroll it down to 256.Initial. Otherwise you can just save a "virgin"...

Re: My JDXA is falling apart sound wise
... Roland needs to answer this. Hey, man, don't spread panic over here please. As far as I'm concerned Roland is the only company among the others that really provides tech support to their customers. I had various issues with almost any peice of gear I bought and Roland did all their best to get ...

Re: New User! Sluggish key issue and sequencer question
Hi there, That sluggish key operation could be due to an oversized rubber damper (bush) mistakenly installed at the factory. I got the same issue and claimed that problem to Roland. I told them that even though I got my JD-Xi of ebay being s/hand I believe the instrument had ever been opened. They s...

Re: FA owner: Is it worth buying a D-05 ?
It all depends on how big your love is. With that Integra Axial library you'll be very limited cause it's just an attempt to mimic to some extent some original sounds of D-50 with use of SuperNatural engine which is not the same as D-50. For instance you won't be able to get Staccato Heaven sounding...

Re: JDXi Update request (Roland please read this!)
Hi there, It's very unlikely that Roland will make your dream come true. However you could easily control a filter envelope as well as many other parameters of your JD-Xi just with use of a programmable midi controller. I used a WORLDE Minicontrol9 (the same as Korg Naokontrol) for that purpose. Sin...

Re: Loving my new JD-XA. WOW! But so hard to learn!
Hi there,
There is an enhanced alternative JD-XA manual by some power users from this and other forums.

As for me it's a quite decent piece of literature to start with to break the horse.
Hope it hepls.

Re: What are the new Roland covers made out of?
... what they're made out from? That is either LEXAN™ (polycarbonate) or polyester. These both are usually used for making instrument front/control panels for instance car instrument clusters. Lexan is way durable material in terms of scratch resistance ability however it's prone to brake if being ...

Re: Roland is Inflating their Pricing!
Likely that the JD-XA is about to be made obsolete.........Bargains Ahead. It's quite clear that those guys have definitely decided to dump all their stock down by aggressively bashing its price. What is the story behind that? Who knows. Either their sales of one might have been not as good as expe...
