XV pitch shifter vs Integra
I was comparing a few patches on my XV-5050 with the same patches on the Integra generally wondering if the 5050 is largely redundant. The few I tried sounded basically identical until I got to one in particular. I already know that the 5050 MFX architecture is somewhat more capable than the Integra...

Re: Integra effects Wet/Dry mix?
You are correct. I wasn't sitting in front of the Integra and wasn't routing it properly in my head. Indeed, the dry signal is always fed to the selected output at 100% (duh, that's the original problem :-)) so your doubling solution works without processing the dry voice. The only remaining issue I...

Re: Integra effects Wet/Dry mix?
Relax, I'm not getting defensive. Certainly hope it doesn't sound that way. I can see how your duplication solution is in the box but you end up running all your dry signals through the Chorus block with a chorus effect running which for many voice types may not be wanted. So even if the MFX for the...

Re: Integra effects Wet/Dry mix?
No, you absolutely can get 100% wet reverb without any external mixing or processing. Not getting full wet reverb has been a common complaint with Integra. The point of my suggestion above was to show that You CAN indeed process a Part or multiple parts through the full range of completely DRY to 10...

Dry/Wet Reverb mix is possible. Here's how.
I figured out one way to do this but you lose the Chorus block entirely. - Set the Part Reverb send to 127 - Set the Reverb level to 127 - Set the Part output to an unused analog pair. This is where the normal full dry signal will go and be ignored. - Set the Chorus to Delay mode and set all delays ...

Integra effects Wet/Dry mix?
I couldn't find any mention of Wet or Dry in the manuals. I'm wondering how to adjust the wet/dry mix in order to put some distance between the listener and the instrument in the case of reverb. Certainly I could output the reverb to a separate set of outputs and mix them extremely but do I really h...

Re: Reverb difference between supernatural and pcm
Yeah, this is an OLD thread, but it's new to me. :-)
Does anybody know of Roland addressed this via firmware at some point. I didn't see it mentioned in the 1.21 firmware notes. Maybe they fixed it without mentioning it?

The early development of Supernatural models
I hunted around recently to find out more about how "Supernatural" models do their work and it turns out that it actually is quite a bit more than just another buzz word fabricated by marketing weasels. :-) Supernatural tech got it's start in 1985 with the S50 which wasn't just a sampler. ...

Re: VA Synth - PCM partials. List?
I've only skimmed the surface of the presets thus far. I've been spending more time learning the architecture. People get really wrapped up discussing just how the waves are generated. In the end it's about the sound regardless of whether the sample was derived through sample interpolation or the re...

Re: JD990, XV5080 and DAC
Indeed. I have a GAIA that sounds great and is a joy to design sounds with. Others can spend their time debating about the merits of how each sample is generated for various architectures. That becomes especially amusing when it's something they can have no direct knowledge of. In the end it is only...

Thanks for the link JunoJohn. Looks like Hobbit did the SN VA pcm waves the hard way by literally typing them into a list from the Integra screen! :O Wonderer could have made his job much easier. :-)

Re: VA Synth - PCM partials. List?
It's unfortunate that Roland treats the Integra like a big preset box and couldn't take the time to list the internal VA waves. That makes sound design difficult if you don't know what your raw material is. You can download the list of waves included with each SRX expansion from the Roland site. I'v...
