Re: my SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth board has no capacitor, safe? Issues?

Thanks for the reply. The board somehow works fine, it's been in use now consistently ever since I posted this thread. How/why it can work perfectly without its capacitor is beyond me, but it does work, just fine.

Re: audio in on Fantom 6....can I create an audio track in the sequencer?

Thanks for your reply. Recording entire songs within the synth is my objective.

Which synth(s) might you recommend for that purpose?

audio in on Fantom 6....can I create an audio track in the sequencer?

. Greetings - I have a Fantom X6, and it allows me to create an entire song in the sequencer - I can layer in vocals (via the audio in), synth, piano, drums, etc. Can I do the same in a Fantom 6? I've looked at the manual, and other sites, but can't figure it out. Obviously, the Fantom 6 has an audi...

my SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth board has no capacitor, safe? Issues?

Greetings -

I just got this off eBay. To my amazement, it does not have a capacitor. Instead, where the cap should be is a burn mark.

However, it seems to work fine.

What do you guys make of this? Safe? Issues?

thanks

Richard

Re: JD-800 headphone out - one channel is louder than the other!

Greetings Jim - thanks for the reply. I ended up fixing this problem. I found a spare slider pot board and installed it, and the problem went away.

The problem was the volume slider.

So all is well.

thanks!

JD-800 headphone out - one channel is louder than the other!

Greetings - I've got a JD-800, everything works, and it looks good too. The issue is that the stereo headphone out sends a stronger signal to one channel (at this moment, I forget which channel) than the other. So, if you start with the volume at 0, and then raise it, one channel becomes audible bef...

what keybed does the JD-800 use? Fatar? Other Roland keys?

Greetings -

The JD-800.

1) What keybed does it use? Presumably a Fatar? What model?

2) Also, what other Roland synths use the same keybed?

thanks!

JD-990 can't save to memory card? "

Greetings - I recently got a JD-990 (great synth) from eBay, and it sounds great and works perfectly. I think. I just tried saving some patches to my Roland M-256E card. I followed the Sweetwater directions, below, and when I pressed "Execute" I got this message: DATA Card Read Only - (JD-...

Re: 5080 OS update with SM card.... not working! Advice?

Let us know how you get on... Steve Steve, thanks for replying. Success! Finally, for lack of anything better to do (I followed your suggestions, to no avail....but thanks!), I placed the rom file inside of the "Roland" folder that is generated on the sm card when you format it. That did ...

buttons that don't work....what to do?

Greetings - I have a V-Synth, the original keyboard version. Good shape overall, no issues, except...... 3 of the buttons don't work dependably; the + OCT, the down button, and the right button. Any thoughts on how to fix these ? I've tried using them REPEATEDLY, but that doesn't really help. They e...

midi being sent when no key depressed? + volume issue

Greetings - I just got a JP-8000 (yesterday), and it's a great-sounding synth, that is for sure. Mine appears to have 3 issues, however. 1) lower volume from the main outs than from the headphone out. 2) 'blipping' sounds when a key is depressed on a patch or performance. 3) midi 'blips' being trans...
