Thanks for the reply. The board somehow works fine, it's been in use now consistently ever since I posted this thread. How/why it can work perfectly without its capacitor is beyond me, but it does work, just fine.

Thanks for your reply. Recording entire songs within the synth is my objective.

Which synth(s) might you recommend for that purpose?

I just got this off eBay. To my amazement, it does not have a capacitor. Instead, where the cap should be is a burn mark.

However, it seems to work fine.

What do you guys make of this? Safe? Issues?

Greetings Jim - thanks for the reply. I ended up fixing this problem. I found a spare slider pot board and installed it, and the problem went away.

The problem was the volume slider.

So all is well.

The issue is that the stereo headphone out sends a stronger signal to one channel (at this moment, I forget which channel) than the other. So, if you start with the volume at 0, and then raise it, one channel becomes audible bef...
