AIRA site error on transfer to System-8
In the past I was able to log onto the AIRA microsote and while Win10 laptop was connected via USB to my System-8, I was able to use the "Go to Download" (GRAB1 BELOW) and tap "Transfer to System-8" and have a sound patch loaded via live link. (GRAB2 BELOW). This functionality ha...

Re: System-8 NO Presets or Banks?
I have an issue where I installed the new "Techno" patches for things like the Jupiter, Juno and SH101, but the default presets are no longer available. Ive un-installed and reinstalled the individual VSTs using theRoland Cloud Manager app but nothing. All i have are the new ones, the old ...

Weird loopback echo when realtime sequencer recording
Ok this is a new, weird one i came across. 'Been using the JDXi for a while and pretty familar with the classic Roland step/realtime sequencer going back to my 707 days. recently when i setup the sequence for some scratch pad drum loops, when i do realtime record and let it loop through, it seems li...

Re: Polyphony/voice question (Pre-purchase)
Gotcha. Can each of the two be assigned a specific midi channel? The JDXi is fixed on 1,2,10 and 3 for its four parts. I'd like to be able to drive both from Cubase without 'overlap'. i do know about the plug-out stuff and using the S8 as a controller for Roland Cloud. currently ending the 30-day tr...

Re: New with question about Roland SPD-SX
It sure is. You can sample live input and play loops or one hits. There are basic editing features but to really be efficient, you want to do the sample editing on a computer. I use an app like Adobe Audition to create, name and edit samples and then load into the SPDSX. I setup some kits as drum lo...

Polyphony/voice question (Pre-purchase)
Computer graphics pro with newbie audio question about the system 8 hardware. Specs say it has “polyphony: 8” but it isn’t clear to me if this is 8 simultaneous notes of the same loaded synth or if it’s truly 8 instruments playing out on 8 different midi channels simultaneously. I currently have a R...

Re: JD XI - export patterns (from E to H) to PC
I sort of got it working with Cubasis 2.7 on my iPad12. I did the 4 part mapping as 4 tracks. Didnt bother with the audio in/out and have the JDXi stereo out to my mixer. I manually setup the BPM on the JDXi to match the DAW. The trick to the mixed success: when the JDXi is SLAVE mode, the pattern w...

Re: JD XI - export patterns (from E to H) to PC
let's say the jdxi isnt connected to anything but headphones. I then select a program of 2 digital, drums and 1 analog. I then setup a 2 measure empty sequence as a loop. then i use any combination of realtime or step sequencing to enter the 4 instrument parts across 2 measures. I want to get that r...

Re: JD XI - export patterns (from E to H) to PC
Thats a nice video for the setup to record and I’ve been able to replicate that in Cubase and Cubasis, but what I’m specifically curious about is a way to extract midi data from a 1,2 or 4 measure pattern loop created using the onboard JDXi sequencer. Say I use it as a scratch pad and want to build ...

Re: JD XI - export patterns (from E to H) to PC
2) connect via MIDI the JD-Xi to a computer with appropriate MIDI recording software; then play live your programs on the JD-Xi and record in real time the MIDI stream on your computer. This will only "export" the MIDI data, no sound. Any more specifics on this option would be appreciated...

Re: JD XI - export patterns (from E to H) to PC
Same question here!
I'm hoping to (sometimes) use the JDXi as a scratch pad of sorts and then export the 4 individual program parts as midi data back to my DAW. I know they are MIDI channels 1,2,10 and 3 respectively, but not sure how to export the notes as MIDI data.

Re: JD-Xi TB MIDI Stuff iPad Editor
I'm just finding this thread and hope to try it out soon. Just got a new iPad Pro to use w/ Cubasis as my hub and the JDXi is my primary outboard 'lil powerhouse.
