I joined a while back, and have resumed working on my firmware changes after taking a little hiatus. I also posted what I currently have done in the 'software' channel. I hope folks get a chance to try it out and get some feedback.

The fact that letting it sit for a while "fixes" it, makes me think it is the power supply or possibly degraded/bulging capacitors. First thing I would try is to get a power converter to match things up.
