Re: Roland XP-sequencer VST-emulator based on XP/Fantom(MRC-
You will be able to open and edit SVQ files in your DAW, that you have been collecting for a long time).people have written a lot about converters for example SVQ to MIDI , and they were also expressing a bunch of problems with opening their old SVQ projects Awave Studio 11+ now does a fine job at ...

Re: Jupiter 8 Osc Sync is the wrong way around?
ABM models are a superset of the ZEN-Core engine. There's a great analysis from Paux_xyz @Gearspace on how the models are built atop the classic Roland digital synths 4 partials structures: https://gearspace.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-and-electronic-music-production/1277989-new-roland-ju...

Re: Fixing my good old XP-50
If you saved the Performance & Patches settings as SysEx into a track, hopefully it will also be imported into the Standard Midi File. If not, then loading a SVD backup of the sounds you used back then before playback will be needed. I still have a glitchy but working XP-50 with a Gotek USB driv...

Re: Guidance for Xm with 3.0 firmware
I thought the latest manual and sound lists were for v3.0 and above? They certainly are for the X. The english owner, reference and parameter guide have been edited to cover v3.0: https://www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/jupiter-xm/owners_manuals/ For minor revision, there were some useful ...

Re: JV-1080 EFX parameter detail query
If that can help, you can grab a few JVXP resources here, that I gathered many moons ago: http://poumtschak.free.fr/JVXP/ For instance: JVXP_Sysex.zip -> David R. Green (Lilchips) JV-XP useful SysEx strings JVXP/SoundDiverJV-XP.zip -> the OG SoundDiver editor for the JV-1010/XP-30 sounddiver_jv-xp_u...

Re: JV-1080 EFX parameter detail query
They all have the same SysEx Model ID, so I don't think you can probe which is what. Marco Stella had to build 4 versions of his editors, JV and XP, since there were MIDI engine evolutions between the JV-1080/XP-50, then the XP-60/80, and the JV-2080, JV-1010 and XP-30 after that. https://www.oociti...

Re: JV-1080 EFX parameter detail query
Nice. Encore Electronics used to sell programmable control surfaces that had Roland JV/XP profiles. https://www.encoreelectronics.com/cont_knob1.html https://www.encoreelectronics.com/cont_knob3.html Since the profiles are *.ini textfiles, they can act as a self documentation for the SysEx structure...

Re: Spreadsheet of all Jpt Xm Tones, with Bank & PC
I have tried to find waveform list for the Exapnsions but no luck. When you download an EXZ from Roland Cloud, it comes with a pdf manual that lists all the waveforms (and drumkits when applicable). Lookout for EXZ001_SoundList_multi01_W.pdf, EXZ002_SoundList_multi01_W.pdf, EXZ001_SoundList_multi01...

Re: Fixing my good old XP-50
If someone can repair my keyboard, all i want to do is be able to transfer a bunch of my songs from the xp-50 keyboard to my laptop so i can mix them down and release them now 25 years later. You can use Awave Studio to try to convert those SVQ files to standard SMF (MidiFile): https://www.fmjsoft....

Primo, if I was stumbling on something that's not covered by the FAQ... https://rolandcorp.com.au/blog/jupiter-x-xm-the-ultimate-guide ...I'd contact Roland support at Roland Backstage: https://www.roland.com/backstage/ Answering customers question about problems with Roland gear is their job, which...

Re: SVD-file format
There's was a SVD2SYX DOS program, whose programmer is unknown, but still online: https://xoomer.virgilio.it/insidemusic/suoni%20XP80%20XP50.htm Marco Stella did manage to decode the JV/XP SVD format in his JV XP editors though. https://www.geocities.ws/mstella/index-2.html It seems there's some sor...

Re: my SR-JV80-04 Vintage Synth board has no capacitor, safe? Issues?
The capacitor purpose is to filter or smooth the current applied to the chips. There's a reason this one has blown up. https://gearspace.com/board/electronic-music-instruments-and-electronic-music-production/1112520-exploding-jv2080-expansion-card.html Typically on boards like this there's a larger ...

Re: XV 5080 useful Sysex command
Okay, never mind my previous post which is just plain silly: it's not like on the JV, definitely! Getting acquainted to my new XV back from being serviced, I just had the chance to compare both synths. A JV-2080 PERF +PATCH dump from the front panel is 14795 bytes. Matching MIDI Dump Request is: F0 ...
