Royce. I started into your advice. I found regedit. Clicked on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE... . Went to Software and got a window with 3 headings: Name Type Data (Default) REG_SZ (value not set) There were no Midi entries.

Well, my idea didn't work (install M-Audio and then uninstall using the program that guaranteed total uninstallation. Glad I didn't pay for it!). Once I get my courage up to try the regedit approach, I will give it a try.

I haven't the slightest idea on how to solve your problem, but there is a Tascam forum site where someone may be able to help if the problem is with your Tascam.
