Got it working. Seems issue had been to an incorrect partial assignment. To be specific, I'd set the Partial 2 Filter envelope to control FXM/XMOD amount (so that that the filter envelope of the voiced partial, that being Osc1/Partial 1, could still be used in application to it's filter or whatever...
