Re: Thank you to the Admins and User contributions.
Ditto! I haven’t much experience with forums and I’ve been looking around. :) If I posted my topic in the free zone, when it should perhaps be in the vintage instrument zone, should I pull it down and repost in the proper topic area? I would like the ‘right’ people to see it. And/or if I wish to sha...

Re: Fixing my good old XP-50
I’m interested in your progress because I have an XP-50 that needs work. Also wonder if you take on projects for others… Cheers!

Roland XP-50 needs full capacitor overhaul - help!
I hope this is an appropriate topic for this board. If not, I appreciate any guidance. I'm a newbie! I bought an XP-50 in 1998 and didn't use it much. About 2 years later it went into storage and I recently pulled it out. I was planning to use it as a controller for my Logic DAW and happily it seeme...

Re: Hybrid groovebox
I checked out the Verselab at your suggestion and, for me at least, it seems odd that there is no piano style keyboard. Grooves and beats to spark creativity are great and all, but what if you want to play…a chord?! I guess I’m a dinosaur! ;)

Re: Roland XV5050 distorted sounds
I’ve learned that there is a guy in Deland, Florida who will do the job of replacing all the capacitors. If you’re near there, it might make sense to have him do it since he’s very experienced with the issue. He gave me a ballpark figure of $200-$250. For me it would be prohibitively expensive to sh...

Re: Roland XV5050 distorted sounds
I’m also interested in this bc I have an XP50 that was in storage for 20 years. While being worked on it gave off a strong fish smell and I was told this was a known symptom. It would be a pity for this machine to wind up in the landfill. It is otherwise looking virtually perfect. :(

Re: So is Roland going to make a new Flagship Keyboard?
XP 50's not a bad workstation for its time (1995). There are guides on YouTube to service it yourself. For a single key fault, you may only need a screwdriver, a cleaning cloth, contact cleaner etc. It's probably just a duff contact on 1 key. They go for between $250-$400 dollars 2nd hand. It's pro...

Re: So is Roland going to make a new Flagship Keyboard?
Hi - Total newbie here (not a true player) so please forgive me if this is way off topic, somehow out of line or should be in a separate thread. Where does the XP-50 fall in the realm of Roland keyboards? I bought one in 1998 and recently unearthed it from storage. It was virtually unused and still ...
