Re: DIMM Size?
Hi, check the card if in the roland smpl folder there are files. These are normally loaded at startup and reduce the amount of free memory. So as a rough calculation take 512MB and subtract the sum of file sizes in the smpl folder. This should give about the free memory. It could be that your ram is...

Re: THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON MC808 USER ERROR
Hi,
i assume that you have inserted the CF card. As user space is limited to 16MB with the CF Card you have up to 512MB space for samples.
You must set the USB Storage to CARD and then copy the samples to the TMP folder on the card.
Bye, Dirk.

Re: 808 Editor - Compressor or EQ Mutes a Part?
Hi,
i will try to check it on the weekend.
BTW, have you tried to use software editor to visualize your routing? You could append a screenshot of that for making diagnostic easier.

Re: after trying to import wav on card, all data lost on car
Hi total_zet,
there must be a problem with your CF card. I do such workflows many times and never had any problems or data loss.
Maybe you give it a try and buy a new one.

Hi Randy,
just [write] the pattern to a new location instead of copying it.

Re: no patterns or patches
OK, go for this: Press [USER] and then [PATCH]This should place you in the patch mode. Now simply select patches by dialing. Do NOT press [Enter]. [Enter] will only open the selection screen for the patch group (e.g. Piano). Play on the 16 buttons. Change sound by dial and only by dial. Does this ch...

Re: no patterns or patches
Hi, you should do a fresh factory reset. This will restore all factory patterns and sounds. If it does not work the first time, run it again.

Re: tmp audio import file disappeared
Hi, regarding life cycle of CF cards you should consider that they at some day start to give unreliable behaviour. I had that with several cards (thanks god not on MC-808). The best way to go is to do backups to a computer on a regular base (e.g. once a week). I also use several cards. One for each ...

Re: CF Card slow to load
Hi,
i just tested 2 cards with some sample data. First is a no-name standard card, the second a 80x speed card. The no-name non high speed card was at the same speed as the 80x speed card. So this suggests that the bottle neck is not the CF card but the internal logic of the MC-808.
