Re: Is the Fantom a best seller? is still alive?
Linear sequencer with loop recording is my number 1 request. Thinking of getting a fantom ex, but this is one thing that I would need to get most out of it.

Re: Fader specification for Roland MC707
I'm no expert, but can't you measure the faders impedance, or one that works, and the physical size then try looking for one.
I think a fader is simply a variable resistor, unless that's changed? Been over 20 years since I worked with electronics!

I'd also like to see an expanded t-8 which has drums only but 16 parts to play with! :)

Re: This is where you can tell Roland what you want from the next MC707 firmware update
The biggest thing that would make the 707 so much easier to program would be the addition of a shift 'switch' that changes the function of the 24 knobs to either preprogrammable or user programmable synth controls. Allowing you to use those knobs to edit the ZEN core engine parameters.

I know your pain! I just picked the first on the list. If they have an issue with that, they should sort out the crappy website! Lol

Re: New Roland MC-707 Review
OK, I see, I may give it a try if I can tear myself away from my MPC! Lol I've tried several times to make stuff on the 707, but it's just not gripping me the same way the MPC does! Shame as I've always liked Roland gear for it's sounds, fx and simplicity. They are great machines, that I don't dispute.

Re: New Roland MC-707 Review
Yeah I get you, but what you're saying is exactly how it used to be done on all Roland's old gear prior to the FA-06! AFAIK. I had an XP-60 and an MC-909, both of these had fixed factory presets as well as user banks. So you could edit a factory preset and save it as a user preset. But on top of thi...

Re: New Roland MC-707 Review
This was one of the many reasons I returned my Fantom 6 after 4 days! I then looked at the previous workstation, the fa-06, which works exactly the same way. I think the omission of patch storage is a definite choice by Roland so they can peddle the software synth Zen Pro. I mean, it's not exactly d...

Re: AIRA compact suggestions
Great idea! I think they should move over to using small oled screens though. Those cryptic parameter names are way too confusing!

AIRA compact suggestions
I just got an AIRA compact s-1 for my birthday recently :) it's a fabulous little box. Well worth the pocket money it sells for! I just wanted to make some suggestions to Roland, hopefully they read this forum? I for one would like more of these compacts. The forms of which are as follows... 1. All ...

Re: This is where you can tell Roland what you want from the next MC707 firmware update
I'd like to be able to create longer patterns. 64 bars minimum, for doing sounscape stuff. Also, can you please change the brightness, or better still, make track position LED the only one lit. I'm referring to the green Led's at the top of each track. Currently, unless you're looking directly at th...

Also, did you get the correct midi adapter? The trs adapters come in two variants apparently. Though I have no experience with it personally.

Re: MC-707 vs JV-1010 PCM waveforms
Tbh, I'm not as clued up on Zen Core as you appear to be. I admit I find the whole Roland thing confusing as fxxk nowadays! I started with an XP-60 in '98. Loved that thing. I'm no expert tho, just an occasional hobby for me. Doesn't surprise me that there copy pasting going on! Or that there are id...

Re: MC-707 vs JV-1010 PCM waveforms
Zen Core as far as I'm aware, is the name for the deep synthesis system, which doesn't include the PCM samples. But, it may be possible that the raw waveforms used for the Zen Core system are indeed older than we believe, ie, not modern sounds at all but rehashes of old sounds. Then again, that's wh...
