Step 1: "Hold down the [A. PIANO] button while turning the power on. The RD-64 will operate as a MIDI controller keyboard with the same functionality as the Roland A-88. In Controller mode, no sound is produced from the RD-64’s internal sound generator. Also, nothing will happen when you press ...

Re: Roland D70 screen, MB revision and editor
I don't know much about the Roland D-70 either. General good advice: if you don't have to, don't disassemble the D-70, because you might ruin it.

Re: VR09 MIDI limitations - Need Help Please
The VR-09 does not pass MIDI from the MIDI In to MIDI Out. You have to buy an external device to split the MIDI to the VR-09 and sequencer separately.

Re: Changing JV1080 Performances via midi
I tried to find out from the Korg Wavestation manual exactly how the Korg Wavestation EX sends the Bank Select MSB (Bc 00 dd), Bank Select LSB (Bc 20 dd) and Program Change (Cc pp) messages in Patch and Performance mode, but for me was not clearly revealed. According to the manual, it always sends a...

Re: Changing JV1080 Performances via midi
1. For JV-1080, the SETUP / <Control Channel> parameter value tells you on which MIDI channel to send Bank Select MSB, Bank Select LSB and Program Change messages to change the Performance. For the SETUP / RECEIVE MIDI parameter, Bank Select ("Bnk") and Program Change "P.C" recep...

Re: JV-880 expansion board limit
Yes, it's true. Only the Roland JV-80 and JV-880 need to transfer the patches from the card, the other Roland instruments (e.g. JV-90, JV-1000, JV-1080) can use them directly.

Re: Roland XV-5050 don't respond to midi signal
1st tip: try using a different MIDI cable.
2nd tip: use the XV-5050's test mode to test the MIDI In and MIDI Out connectors. See "Roland XV-5050 Service Notes".

Re: Edirol by Roland PCR-300/500/800 HOLD pedal in SPLIT mode
(corrected) Which MIDI channel(s) does the HOLD (P1) pedal send to in Dual/Split mode? 1. No assignment to HOLD (P1) pedal: sends CC64 to Lower and Upper channel. 2. A Channel Message is assigned to the HOLD (P1) pedal and Omni=Off: sends to the assigned channel of the controller. 3. A Channel Messa...
