Re: Br-864 Card Reader Dead HELP!
I have a Br 864 and the Card reader is Mangled I assume you mean that one or more of the pins are bent or broken. If pins are bent, you can try to straighten them. But be careful as the metal may be fatigued and further bending could snap the pin off. If you have broken pins, then you should take t...

Re: br 900 v2 upgrade
The root directory is the highest level directory of a drive. The ROLAND folder is in the root directory. So, if you can see the ROLAND folder but not its contents, then you're in the root directory. Copy the update files so that they're not in the ROLAND folder but along side it (at the same level)...

Re: Help! Boss BR-900CD
Glad you successfully completed the update. Now you should Initialize your memory card (page 196) before using it with the new version of the system. Obviously, if there's currently anything on the card which you want to keep, you'll have to back it up first (page 164). I hope your existing card wor...

Re: Help! Boss BR-900CD
You said you copied the files to the BR's root directory, disconnected the USB cable, then checked to see if the version changed. Well, of course it didn't! You've only completed steps 1 through 4 of the 10 steps in the update instructions . You need to complete steps 5 through 10. - 64Guitars http:...

Re: Help! Boss BR-900CD
When the BR is connected to your computer via USB and in Backup Mode ("Idling..."), the BR will appear in Windows Explorer as a new drive named "BOSS_BR-900". Just copy the files to the root directory of that drive the same way you'd copy any files. You said you're "reasonab...

Re: BOSS Micro BR vs. Zoom H4
You might want to also look at the TASCAM DP-004. It's not as versatile and feature-packed as the Micro BR, but it's much easier to operate and a bit less expensive. See my comparison of the pros and cons here: http://microrecorders.org/community/general-discussion-b6/new-dp-004-4-track-pocketstudio...

Re: Micro BR - adding effects after recording
I think people get confused about the "INPUT(REC DRY)" insert mode for two reasons. 1) They think it's necessary in order to record the guitar without effects. It's not. You can record without effects by simply switching the insert effects off. The reason for "INPUT(REC DRY)" mod...

Re: Micro BR - adding effects after recording
To apply effects to a track after recording it, you have to route the track through the insert effects and re-record it. You do that by setting the Effects Insert Mode to the desired track, selecting the desired effect, then bouncing the track to another v-track. For example, let's say you want to r...

Re: Micro BR rythm playback
When you press [PLAY], the Micro BR will play back the currently selected drum pattern or arrangement plus all four currently selected v-tracks for the current song. So, there are several ways you could solve your problem. 1) You could lower the playback level of each of the four tracks to zero (see...

Re: br900cd
mastering..... Are you supposed to use the mix down, then the pre master before chosing which on the other mastering settings to use ie sequencially. No, you should probably only use one Mastering Tool Kit preset patch. You don't have to use any if you don't want to. That's what I do. I just mix my...

Re: New COSM effects- Works with Boss br 600?
The BR-900 version 2 firmware update is only for the BR-900. However, the BR Rhythm Editor should work with the BR-600 and possibly the BR-864 as well.

Re: BR900 - Saving to CD
You have to mix your tracks and record them to a 2-track master. See this document for a gentle introduction to the process: http://www.rolandus.com/uploads/CMS/Downloads/128/Intro_to_Recording_a_CD.pdf Also, read the Turbo Start Guide, especially page 2: http://www.rolandus.com/uploads/CMS/Download...

BR-900 USB
Merely connecting a usb cable between the BR and the PC does not initiate any communication between the two devices. You have to put the BR into Backup Mode before your computer will be able to see it. See page 164 of the BR-900CD manual. - 64Guitars http://www.geocities.com/sixtyfourguitars/BossBr/
