Re: Requests to Roland (official)

1: Ability to import or convert sounds (patches/performances) from all previous Fantom models (Fantom, Fantom X, Fantom G etc.). That would require all the (multi)samples from the previous models (included all the expansion cards samples) to be available on the new Fantom. If technically not possibl...

Re: Experience with (this) external midi-keyboard to Fantom

The only drawback with this method is you cannot split the external board. But I set it up so all my splits are on the X7 and sounds that require the full keyboard are on the second board. Not exactly true. I use the very same method (but I use channel 14 instead of channel 9). I (and everybody els...

Re: Fantom XA + MIDI KEYBOARD One Sustain Pedal ?

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to use ONLY ONE Sustain Pedal for Both Keyboards ? The setup is has follow : Fantom XA with a M-AUDIO 88 PRO Keyboard via MIDI , the PEDAL is connected to the ROLAND FANTOM XA. Problem : When I connect the Sustain Pedal to the Fantom XA , It does the Sustai...

XLIB how does it work?

Hi, I've downloaded Perplextor's Xlib free version here http://perplextor.de/?p=45 I've installed it ok, but I can't find any manual and I don't find the software to be self-explanatory. In short: I'm not able to find out how it works. Anyone can help me to get its basic features? Thank you in advan...

Re: Fantom-X Tips and Tricks

Many thanks Artemiy! Also, now I can't edit my old messages. I'd like to cancel the following now misleading phrase (this same thread, 1st page, 6th post from the top): "GM patches are "dummy" patches just for reference, i.e. just GM patches' names attached to an initialized patch (yo...

Re: SRJV presets converted to Fantom X and S

Hi Paolo, Managed to get it to load (wrote a straight sysex delivery program and it loaded OK). Here is the original JV1080, a converted XV in XVl and Mid format as well as a Fantom version as a Mid file. Let me know if it is OK. All the best Royce Thank you Royce! Sorry I was very busy the last fe...

Re: Fantom-X Tips and Tricks

For moderators: please would it be possible to put this thread back as a sticky (like on the old forum)?
I've updated the files linked in one of my previous posts (1st page, 6th post from the top): added JV1080-converted GM patches (thanks Rcraven!).
Thank you.

Re: SRJV presets converted to Fantom X and S

Sorry Paolo the file won't load into the XV Librarian and I tried to load it with a sequencer into my XV3080, but no luck. Looking at the Midi file, the sysex header uses ox6A as the model id. The XV series uses 0x42 so it will never load as it is. I did change some of the Model bytes to XV but sti...

Many many thanks here you are the JV 1080 GM patches in Midi file format (you should set on your XV 3080 the same device ID that I have on my JV 1080: device ID 17)

Re: SRJV presets converted to Fantom X and S

Hi Paolo Like the Fantom the XV GM presets are not accessible, unless you have been able to do it. If you have feel free to send then to me and I'll try to convert them. My conversion program only goes from XV patch banks to FantomX/S patch banks I only have a XV3080 (which I think is great, but th...

Re: SRJV presets converted to Fantom X and S

Hi, years ago I put here (6. post from top): http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23392 the link to download my complete Fantom X presets + Roland-converted XV patches file in fxl format. Of course, GM patches were missing (GMs are not editable in Fantom X). Would you be so kind to c...

Re: MOTU USB Midi Express 128 or XT experiences?

Hi Arjan,
sorry I can't answer your question, but would you be so kind to confirm that Roland Midi drivers are multi client (I'm considering buying a UM-3G)?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Controlling another Controller

Arjan: "Like geppastro says you can edit the key range of the patches themselves but it's note quite as convenient."

Actually, I've been using this method for 3 years now. I find it not bad at all. I guess it's mostly about self-organization.

Re: Controlling another Controller

<t>I suggest the following (let's say for example you want two sounds splitted on the Studiologic): <br/> - assign the keybord range for both patches (patch A and patch B) inside the patches (patch edit -> TMT -> Key Range Lower and Key Range Upper) and then save them to the user memory <br/> - edit...
