Re: XP60 Key replacement. Very hard to remove.
Does the black strip lock the keys in place?
Perhaps you push the black strip to the side so the locking tabs are clear of the keys.
Best of luck

Re: Roland Fantom X8 LCD Screen issue and advice needed
Just to check.
It looks a lot like the knob 'LCD Contrast' just to the top right of the screen needs turning.
I hope it is an easy fix like this.
My screen hardly shows at all if I haven't turned it on for a while. Let it warm up and it is fine.

Re: SRX-96 World Collection And Legendary XP Essentials !!
Here is a pdf that has SRX-97 and SRX-98 in it that might get you what you want.
http://cms.rolandus.com/assets/media/pd ... s_0707.pdf
So it looks like SRX-96 bank might be 93 MSB 96 LSB
Hope that helps

Re: Importing my custom XV-5080 patches?
Hi I wrote a conversion program from XV to FanS/FanX to SonicCell that also took into account a lot of the SR-JV80 card's waves that were copied to SRX cards. Roland seemed to constantly change the DAC and output circuits as well as the compression encoding for the waves on later models, so there is...

Re: SVD2SYSX for MSDOS - Anyone have a copy they can upload here?
If there is a Roland editor for the JV, perhaps it can output a SMF (Standard Midi FIle) under FIle / Export. All the Roland editors from the XV to SonicSell (I don't have any later Roland synths) have this feature. Export it as an SMF and use this (from my web site) to turn it into a sysex file. ht...

Re: XV-2020 Sysex
Hi If you are using a PC you can use MidiOx. Use the View / Sysex page to request the patch. - don't forget to connect the MidiOx Event Port to the XV2020 so your sysex is sent there. In the sysex dialog select Sysex / Configure and change the 'Delay after F7' value to put gaps between the sysex mes...

You are right, my bad.
I was thinking more of the unique identifiers on the waves on the cards.
Apologies.

Re: Cloning an old Fantom X8 to a new one
Hi Wayne An extra note: Same slots for the expansion boards are not necessary as the waves and patches are unique for the different types of SRX cards internally in the Fantom. The X8 will find them if you have user Patches/Performances that reference the expansion card elements no matter what slots...

Re: JV-90 dead notes
So every 8th note and some below C3 work = it is most likely a break in the track (above C3) of one of the 8 key data lines (not one of the group of 8 selectors). WIth a quick glance of Service Note, it does not seem include the keyboard PCB (or PCBs) so I am guessing if there are multiple PCBs on t...

Re: JV-90 dead notes
Hi Many of these failures are solder joints going bad or PCB tracks cracking with the flexing of the board and all that can be checked with a continuity tester usually found in the resistor section of a multi-meter. So although I haven't worked on a JV-90 I have worked on keyboards before and after ...

Re: Blown away hearing the Fantom XR!
I didn't think the Fantom S included the full set of XV waves. In fact, Roland came out with a downloadable set of XV-5080 sounds for the Fantom S, and the docs say that some of them will sound different due to the absence of the exact same waves, and substitutions of similar waves instead. You are...

Re: Blown away hearing the Fantom XR!
Hi Vesa The wave lists (Parameter List) are available on Roland's web site for both the XV and the FantomX. https://www.roland.com/us/support/by_product/fantom-x8/owners_manuals/a5082771-793b-4939-8db5-7e79a55508da/ The Fantom (the old none not the new one - thanks Roland 8 i ) it basically an XV. Re: fans.svd and the Fantomasv2010 collection
No, the FanX has a PCMCIA card slot whereas the FanS has a slot for a SmartMedia card. The biggest SM card you can get is 128M. The Fantomasv2010 collection which is 164MB unzipped and when I try to load it onto a 128MB SM card, surprisingly, it says it is 43MB too small. I tried to load up all the ...
