I did eventually get mine from Roland UK.

Still wish there was an orange and grey overlay!

The first thing to do is to try another AC adapter.

If you're gigging you should really have a couple of spares anyway, so buy some.

If that doesn't solve the problem then you can move on to other possibilities.

Yes, that sounds like it. If a part's keyboard switch is turned off then the part will still make a sound as long as that part is the currently selected part. But you can't change the range for it when it's in that state.

Dont get anything labelled a keyboard amp, especially by Roland! They're usually overpriced, heavy, and sound terrible (with a few exceptions which sound very good, but those are pricey). Steve, have you played around with the Keyboard Velocty Curve, and the Keyboard Velocity Curve Offset? I've done this on the 08, and it's really made a difference.
