Re: Power supply HELP!
Miks, can you tell more? I also have a US made JP8000, and the problem is that it generates ridiculous amount of heat. I wonder if swapping it for the correct voltage would help.

Re: JP8000 sounds different than a JP8080?
Can anyone confirm/debunk this? Yeah, It would be nice to have an outside confirmation. If you have both units I have some patches/settings where the difference becomes very obvious. Although the difference is noticeable in normal use. Roland support could possibly answer as well. If you live in th...

Re: Srx-06-09 Cd Rom = What is this for?
If you don't have the SRX card that has the needed wave it will sound very different or it could even be silent. Roland makes no attempt to select a suitable wave substitute. There is no "right position" as each card has a unique 'bank' number for its waves. Roland uses the term "Wav...

Re: Srx-06-09 Cd Rom = What is this for?
RCRaven, I loaded the patches into sonic cell via the librarian, and unfortunately patches are not translating correctly. Any idea what's going on? I would think I have the exp board in the right position as I have loaded patches successfully before, from the CD.

Re: Srx-06-09 Cd Rom = What is this for?
If you have the Librarian connected to your FanX, just load the file into the the librarian and double click on the name of each preset. The each preset just overwrites previous preset in the Fantom's edit buffer so nothing is changed in your USER patches. I assume these are my conversions, but if ...

Re: Srx-06-09 Cd Rom = What is this for?
You can download the Fantom versions of the SR-JV80-02 patches from the link I posted above. You should be able to open it in the Fantom X editor (I think) so you can view the parameters. The editor is a free download from the Roland website. Thank you for the tip gcoudert67. I did just that, but t...

Re: Srx-06-09 Cd Rom = What is this for?
Is the CD-rom available online? I might have lost mine. I would like to find a specific patch on the SRJV 02 and re-program it. Is there any solution that would let me inspect the patches on computer (original or translated?). Sys ex or editor files or etc? I own a sonic cell and not a fantom, but s...

Re: SonicCell backwards compatibility with the JV series? (R
I played with the sonic cell a bit more and indeed, the JD piano 1 of the stock waveforms sounds exactly same as the AC piano 1 of the Orchestral SRX board. So the answer to my question based on that appears yes, the SRX board has stock JV-1080 samples (weird) and Roland renamed the AC piano samples...

Re: Sys ex. for individual JV preset patch banks?
I don't have a JV-1800 but try here (it has the purported factory banks and patches in .syx) http://www.sysexdb.com/synth_detail.aspx?dv=87 good luck Unfortunately the presets are stored in bulk there, editor won't recognize the bulk data. Perhaps someone could upload the preset patch bank A, that ...

Re: SonicCell backwards compatibility with the JV series? (R
Hi RcRaven, I should have specified. Specifically, I mean the JV-1080. Do you know if the first piano waves in the JV-1080 are the "JD pianos" waves in sonic cell / fantom X rom? I am starting to think they are not the same since in the orchestral SRX board (06) there is a piano with the e...

Sys ex. for individual JV preset patch banks?
I am trying to load the JV-1080 presets into a librarian, but don't have a unit with me. Unfortunately, the common editor software such as ChangeIt! or SuperJv can't read bulk data files (at least I haven't figured how to do it) so individual bank files are what I need to rely upon. Does anyone know...

SonicCell backwards compatibility with the JV series? (ROM)
As far as I know Sonic Cell is not completely backwards compatible with the JV series, however my understanding is that it still does contain many waveforms from it. I would like to get a clarification on few waveforms of interest. - Are the Sonic Cell's JD Piano A/B/C waveforms the same as AC Piano...

Re: JP8000 sounds different than a JP8080?
My JP8000 is now fixed, so that can be ruled out. I compared the two and these synths definitely sound different! As stated before, JP8000 has a much snappier envelope on the filter than the JP8080. There is also a very noticeable jump between the values 29-30 on the filter decay on the JP8000 (hold...

JP8000 sounds different than a JP8080?
Hey, So my JP8000 has broken down unfortunately. The output periodically oscillates like crazy (from the headphone out), and there is no output from the main jacks, battery/memory errors as well. Oh well, will have to replace some caps and the battery. Anyway, I happen to have a JP-8080 with me here...

Re: [Tutorial] How to install SonicCell drivers on Windows 1
I have exactly the same problem as Harris, windows won't find the driver. It doesn't look like or automatically replace the old .INF (when copied and pasted) either. EDIT: you must get rid of the .txt extension of the file as the type is .txt. It has to be of the INF type. If you can't see the exten...
