Re: 52 Insert effects on Fusion?

<t>Dansgold:<br/> "It also is important to consider whether the effects work as true "insert" effects, meaning that they can be applied only to a single audio or sequencer channel (this is similar to the Fantom MFX), or if they function as "send/return" effects"<br/> <br/> You can use 1 MFX on as ma...

XV-5080 sys-ex specs

<r>Hi,<br/> <br/> any XV-5080 owners out here?<br/> <br/> I've been thinking about writing a very simple AKAI (S5000/S6000) to Fantom conversion program because I don't see any Chickensys Translator version for the Fantom coming any time soon <E>:(</E> . My primairy focus will be on the (multi) samp...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Don't have any problems with it now, if you have thoughts to make it better, go for it.

Re: Sharp acoustic clicking noise on some X7 keys - Normal?

Arjan,

I'm from Holland and have a X7 (bought 3 months ago). That clicking noise should not be there. The X7 keynoise is as quiet as all my other gear. Roland (or your dealer) should fix this.

Unofficial: Translator News

<r>Hi,<br/> <br/> some very unofficial news for the translator program (the one that should do the AKAI import). According to the forums moderator 2 quotes: "It's coming along,. We set a deadline of the end of August to have it completely done." and "Announcement soon coming. Sorry for the delays......

Re: USB Loading times

<t>> Isn't the Fantom XR USB 2.0 ?<br/> <br/> Doesn't matter, the internal speed of the FX is 300 - 500 kb. The speed limit isn't USB, it's the FX. It won't get any faster unless Roland can speed it up with a new version of the software or new hardware. Don't think Roland is going to speed it up, th...

Re: Couple of thoughts about the new BUG

<t>Sarcasm anyone? No we are not in luck, we are just the fools who buy stuff from companies who are very competitive and will do anything to keep the price of their products down. At one point Roland had to decide to put in a faster processor and raise the cost of the fx or to put in a slower proce...

Re: Couple of thoughts about the new BUG

<t>Well, we are in luck. The insufficient CPU power is not only for Roland users, Yamaha can be quite sufficient in building insufficient CPU powered synths! The Yamaha EX5 for example (Motifs predecessor). It had SCSI but the SCSI load times where no faster than loading from a 3.5"disk drive. The p...

Subjective: The Fantom Organ Sounds are lame

<t>Hi,<br/> <br/> just want to hear some opinions. I really don't like the FX organ sounds and/or the Lesly/Rotary effect. I'm a little biased because I also own a Nord Electro but I previously owned a XP-30 and before that a XP-50 and they had better organ samples/patches. The organs sound dull and...

Re: Question About Accompinament features in Fantom S/X.

Artemio, small correction... The Dicover5 does not have an auto-accompaniment. It 'only' has a versatile midifile player. It can jump to pre-set markers in realtime so you can play the chorus again when the crowd is going mad.....

<t>:Doesn't this in theory mean you can store a crapload of samples :on your PC and use that as the storage device?<br/> Yes, but it isn't like having a big HD for your FX.
