Re: Should I replace my Yamaha s90es with some powerful Rola

<t>The Roland Fantom G and FP series do what you want perfectly. I'm not positive about the RD series but I think they do too. <br/> <br/> Older Fantoms like the S and X will also with patch remain engaged. But it's a bumpy ride as effects configurations change. <br/> <br/> All Kurzweils do as well ...

Re: XP30

I believe what you are referring to is that the organ presets are given the same key range as a Hammond console with the 16' drawbar as fundamental. To move up an octave, go into Patch Edit/Common, set Octave Shift to +1, and save to a user location.

Re: Buying Fantom X8 need advice

<t>I've bought a couple of scratch and dent items in the past and have always been disappointed. Both were damaged, probably in shipping. <br/> <br/> I wouldn't get anything this delicate and huge delivered unless double packed in original sealed box. And don't believe it when they tell you over the...

Re: Cutoff and keyfollow in lead synth patches

<t>ON Rolands, opening cutoff all the way up (like the patch settings above) and then adding resonance boosts the high frequency content above what it would be with no filtering at all. This is actually a useful programming technique on some waveforms with little HF content. Not so much if the waves...

Re: Please Help Me With My Roland XP-30

<t>I don't have an XP-30 so I can't tell you precisely where parameters are but I can point you in the right direction. <br/> <br/> There are two types of Roland XP performances: Single and Layer. You want Single. Your channel assignments, receive(Rx) and transmit (Tx) switches, patches for each par...

Re: Fantom G price going ^

<t>I've felt all along that Roland couldn't indefinitely price the Fantom G at a premium to the Motif XS. With the uncertainties in the economy right now I really feel that way. <br/> <br/> It sounds like adjustments are being made at the retailer right now. Roland will probably make it official by ...

Re: Insert 1/2 measure

It's the same process as described by cgreene above. If you go to the top of your sequence you can change the beat (time signature) of the whole thing.

Re: fantom X - using 2 keyboards at once

<t>I don't know if this helps, but for years I used a Fantom S and a Studiologic SL-880 together onstage. Both played the Fantom S. <br/> <br/> On the Mixer screen I would highlight the part that I wanted to play from the Fantom S. Another part was assigned to the SL-880.<br/> <br/> You get the same...

Re: Insert 1/2 measure

<t>The way I would do this is to change the time signature of the whole sequence to 2/4. Then your two beat half measure is transformed into a whole measure. <br/> <br/> As we all know, Roland really likes to see things in whole measure blocks. To work within this constraint and have flexible editin...

Re: Roland XP upgrade to Fantom series??

<t>Ease of editing: editing is actually easier on an XP than a Fantom S/X, which don't have a numpad and require you to switch out of the main screen to do even simple things like switch tones and effects on and off. Roland addresses many of these shortcomings on the G.<br/> <br/> But... if you deci...

<t>I've seen your question up for awhile but haven't responded because I don't think you can. But I keep forgetting to check. Both my XP-60 and 80 are not home but where I play them twice a week. If I have any time I'll try to see if there's a way sometime this week. But I don't think there is. <br/...

Re: Great review in Sep Issue of Keyboard Mag

<t>The review was written by Ken Hughes, not Steven Fortner.
