Exact digital sample playback on Fantom X/Juno-G

HI to all! Do anybody knows how to achieve a per-sample playback accuracy in the Fantom-X / Juno-G? I mean, some combination of parameters making it possible to record a sample via S/PDIF or resample it with absolutely unity digital gain? I did the following experiment: I had imported a .wav sample ...

Re: X questions

It is right because volume pot is analog and it is intended for adjusting volume of the analog output right after D/A converter. But if you're going to record the synthesizer in DAW, you do not need to reduce it's volume and cause extra recalculations. The output stream should be already guaranteed ...

Re: X questions

Hm, my previous post was definitely unclear. I think that any musician should have some interface at home or studio, but while good analog inputs and good wires costs much, s/pdif input usually costs almost nothing, gives zero-noise and present on any today's interface even some of those integrated ...

Re: X questions

X have s/pdif, so here is no real need to add audio-interface functionality. The performance mode in FX can be imagined like 18-channel (16 midi+audio-tracks+input) stereo mixer with insert on the input 18, insert on the Master channel and 5 AUX sends with free routing between MFX connected to AUXes...

Re: Updated Roland Fantom WAV Sample Import Tool

Luc, thanks for this great ptogram. It seems that I finally found working tool.

To others: Edit .config file with text editor to change CF-card volume letter.

ascenzo2, look at my post in this thread. BTW, it seems that these extra fields may be left empty.

Re: Roland weirdness

The "weird note" is a sample loop locked at maximal pitch. I have to admit that Roland romplers aren't very good for traditional leads and especially for leads using portamento. The portamento itself is linear on every instrument since JD-series and up to Fantom-G and Jupiter-80. The true ...

Re: loaded samples cutting out

That editor is bad for mass import because It changes loop points for no reason. I tried different ways to avoid it and failed. Every time loop points become offset to left for few hundreds of samples. I checked the fileds in a HEX-editor. It is actually become changed after transfer to card. The fa...

Re: USB Floppy Emulation for Roland XP Series

hi folks, I tried install a chinese emulator in my xp-50 (looking the info from this post, following the Candy's recomendation). At this time, I don't have any USB memory stick with equal or less than 2GB, so i'm trying with a 16GB memory. After install my emulador hardare on my XP-50, when I go to...

Re: USB Floppy Emulation for Roland XP Series

Unfortunately, that method doesn't work with Roland XP-50. As i can understand, XP-80 uses standard floppy drive while XP-50 uses Shugart interface with some additional settings. Mine uses Teac FD-235HF-A5xx with following jumpers installed: DS0 - Drive Select 0 input on pin 10 RY34 - READY output o...

Re: Advice for Beatles Horns and Flutes - Juno G

<t>jswest:<br/> Yes, Juno don't have good horns totally. Exactly it contain one horn patch and it is too soft and non-responding to dynamics: you may try to do something with LPF filter, maybe even add some square tone. But for strings and flutes i suggest you to compose samples yourself from Syncla...
