Re: roland.com news
It is always fascinating to watch programmers estimate changes to codebases they have zero knowledge of. Or estimate changes to their own codebase for that matter.

Re: Song
Hi D-Real, and welcome to the clan! I think you will find your answer in FAQ 8.2 How do I resample my song and transfer it to computer for editing/CD burning/MP3 creation . Although you have had the FX for some time, you may or may not know of these resources: Owner's manuals The Manual (X) (Xa) . I...

Re: Is it really possible?
<t>Raccoon is right, what you want is not possible given the hardware of the FX. The FG is better in this respect. <br/> <br/> However, what you can do is to resample a track with the correct effects settings, thereby converting it to an audio track. This will free up the effects processor to proces...

Re: For everyone!
The idea is good, but I don't think the Fantom G section is the proper home for this topic. It probably belongs in 'Community Talk' or perhaps 'Free Zone'. I'll let Artemiy make the call on this.

Re: what is the file format of fantom x sounds???
<t>The Fantom sequencer stores its data in SVQ files. So SVQ files contains a lot more data than just sounds. It also contains patch settings, effects settings and so on. So I would be very surprised if this software package could convert WAV files into SVQ files. <br/> <br/> If you have WAV or AIFF...

Re: Connecting external hard disk to Fantom X
No, connecting a hard drive directly to a Fantom X is not supported.
You can either use a PCMCIA adapter together with a Compact Flash or SD Memory card, or you can connect to a computer over the USB cable in USB Storage mode.

Re: Fantom x7 version Upgrade
<t>Unfortunately, Roland has discontinued the FANX-UP1 upgrade-kit. Some shops still have a few of them laying around, so you may get lucky if you make a few phone calls. Some people have been able to upgrade by bringing the board in to the shop and having it upgraded on-site. <br/> <br/> If that fa...

Re: Fantom button under the screen
Do a factory reset first. If that doesnt help, you may open the box. It it is possible to fix these kinds of errors yourself, but it depends heavily on how much experience you have with doing "home electronics" projects. Confidence is king! You may want to take a look at the pictures poste...

Re: when you finish making a track, now whats next? how do i
For resampling to work, you need sample RAM, not flash memory. Think of flash memory as the Fantoms hard-disk and sample-RAM as the computer working memory that is erased when the unit is turned off.

Re: Faster sample loading time with faster CF card?
No, the card is not the limiting factor, the internal memory bus is. Buy a bigger cup of tea, or convert to a Fantom G, which has faster loading.
