STILL OWN MY FANTOM X6
Anybody else having a problem with the buttons on the panel? Some of them are not very responsive and I have to push them very hard to get them to do anything.

But then I woke up.
It was a dark stormy night and after I'd cranked the drawbridge back up over the moat I went into the basement and began to re-engineer my Roland Fantom X6. It wasn't like it wasn't useful anymore, it was that there were so many more things that I wanted it to do. Thirty seven trips to Radio Shack i...

Re: Sudosonic Fantom X Video
I learned more from this video than from any other source. Yes, it could have been more professionally done but it was very clear and very comprehensive and the results, for my part, speak for themselves. The Roland Video Owner's Manual was complete crap and didn't tell me anything I didn't already ...

Re: VS880 turbostart
I have the video and the VS880. I don't have a VCR and cant play it, and because I still have the VS880 I don't want to part with it. I tried to digitize it a few years ago but the crap thing I bought from Staples did a lousy job of recording from a VCR and I took it all back for a refund. The turbo...

Re: Fantomized.info archive available?
I personally archived the Fantom X forum using Adobe Acrobat a number of years ago but only up to 2008 or 2009, I don't remember exactly. It is on another computer. I wouldn't really distribute it without explicit permission from Art or whoever is running things now, being that I did it for my own p...

Re: Who's using their digital out ... ?
<t>I'm using the digital in on my fantom to connect to the digital out of a VS880. I like the Fantom's mastering capabllities better than the VS880's, so I chain it that way. <br/> <br/> The signal chain depends on what I am doing musically. I am a guitarist, so if I do a song on acoustic guitar wit...

Re: Fantom x-6 with pro-tool
Are you using PC or Mac. If Mac, I can't help you because I've never used a Mac. If you are using PC, do you have the Roland driver installed? Are your PC and your X6 communicating with each other?

Re: yeah, so I'm building a PC for my X6
<t>I have been thinking about the same thing for a long time. As background, I have a Roland VS880 that I have always used for audio multitracking. Of course, the X6 can do the same thing. The reason why I was looking at PC based recording is because I prefer doing things visually, and having a visu...

Re: Patch Mode vs. Performance mode...
Well, yeah, the method is alot of work. I did say it was the bassackwards way to do it. But then I'm a bassackwards kinda guy.

Re: Fantom x Copying effect setting from Patch to Performanc
<t>Well, you've got three effects and chorus and reverb on the X. And that's it. If you want to use different effects on additional midi channels, unfortunately unless the parameters are the same as the effects you've already used, you wind up modifying what you've already recorded if you try to cha...

I am guessing that the Fantom is interpreting two individual mono samples as a stereo pair. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Re: Romantic Strings... Achievable?
<t>50's strings? No, we're not talking about the strings from the 50's, we're talking about sonic quality from the 50's. And then it's back to the analog vs. digital argument. Magnetic tape had a particular effect upon the sound that some people consider pleasing because of nostalgia. Frankly, it's ...

Yeah Andy. He's got a "Kansas" kinda voice. Not sure about his range, though. The song didn't really bring that out.
