Re: Expansion Packs - Any Good?
Definitely not worth the price new. But ebay prices can be good. And I think they do nicely add to the sound pallet of the core unit, giving you many more options.

Re: Expansion Packs - Any Good?
I have all of the cards. For your 80's genre, although I suggest SRX-07 and SRX-08 for quantity, I also suggest SRX-05 for quality.

Re: FG7 on stage on various Songs covering "the DOORS"
very cool. Are you using only the FG effects for the organ?

Re: B-3 sound
alex, let me get this straight. You have a Nord Stage and a Vent. Why are you routing it through your Fantom G to work around getting a better organ sound? Oh, sorry, I just re-read your message. You are using the Fantom to mix it all to one stereo output. I see how that can help you eliminate the u...

Perhaps a new cup holder with expansion slots to hold multiple official Roland coffee mugs! For only $499!
Re: B-3 sound
I just got a Neo Ventilator. It makes all the difference, I promise.

Re: SR-JV-03 Piano Card.... big surprise (to me at least)
Oops, sorry apex, my bad. So, yeah you're right, I see the SRJV-03 patches do mix in quite a lot of the XV waveforms. I have all SRJV and SRX cards, and can easily see all wave/patches using my old editor/librarian. The SRJV-09 contains my favorite piano waveforms of the SRJV series. That was also p...

Re: SR-JV-03 Piano Card.... big surprise (to me at least)
It is true, many of the SRX-03 patches use several of the internal XV waveforms. And although there is even at least one patch that uses ONLY internal waves, most patches are a mix of both. That is how many patches of the other SRX cards are. Since I program most of my own patches, I don't really ca...

Re: Roland XP-60 Brass sound
It's true the Session card has more pop sounding brass waveforms. The Latin card SRJV80-18 has some nice brass that may be more of what you are looking for. I have used it for more expressive sounds.

This is certainly the most useful mod for a synth I have seen. Thanks for posting the great photos and details!

Re: Talk Box
I've tried them all and Rocktron Banshee is the top.
Although popular as a guitar effect, I use it with keyboard on funk tunes like Roger Troutman on 'More Bounce' and 'California Love'. It really gets attention. A wah pedal is much different, and no internal keyboard effects will sound close.

Re: Roland XP-60 Brass sound
If you're not satisfied with the internal sounds, search on ebay for SRJV80-09 Session expansion board. It has the best brass.

I assume Logic has detailed editing. Perhaps this is just one of the things that is scaled down for Garageband?
