Re: Need advice for organizing patches and programs.
Download the free V-Synth Librarian software from Roland. This software is awesome...and simple! You will need to audition the many patches you have collected by loading each project into memory. Then as you write down your favorites, also note the project name. In the Librarian, you can populate a ...

Re: soft synth
Have you made any decisions in terms of soft synths? The forum must have overlooked your post! We're usually quicker to help! But I am guessing your post is in the wrong section. This is V-Synth territory! :-) Roland doesn't make any soft-synths per se, but their Cakewalk Sonar software, before they...

Re: Help! Another card issue.
Overall, the V-Synth should boot with a card installed. My XT does with no problems. I would pull the CF card out and try booting with just the adapter and see what happens. If it still won't boot, then perhaps the adapter is defective. If it does, then format the card and try again. It should be fo...

Re: V-Synth vs. JP-8080? Worth a Purchase?
Oh...and I came across this the other day: Go to http://www.jaybmusic.net/sounds.php#end, and click on the JP-8080 link. As I sold my JP-8080 after about 6 Months of use, I at least want to share with you the sounds I programmed on it. It isn't much though, because I hardly could produce good sounds...

Re: V-Synth vs. JP-8080? Worth a Purchase?
You may also want to have a look at the vintage synth website. Lots of comments about this synth there. http://www.vintagesynth.com/roland/jp8080.php LA Thanks, LA. I checked out the page at Vintage Synth, and I read some of the comments. Overall, I take user rating stars, and the comments, with a ...

V-Synth vs. JP-8080? Worth a Purchase?
The subject line isn't meant to be a joke. After all, it's like comparing apples to oranges. However, I've been seeing some OK deals for JP-8080's on eBay lately, and I'm getting the itch! So I would like to get some opinions and advice. About 15 years ago, I wanted a JP-8080 terribly, but never bou...

Re: what is this tick plastic sheet on the screen?
The thick plastic is on the XT as well. I don't know the reasoning/requirement, however. Maybe it's for protection, or it's functional in the LCD's design. I'm thinking for protection since a) the LCD screen is not made of the durable Gorilla Glass like in iPhones, iPads, etc., and b) musician's may...

OK, now you have piqued my interest! Care to share some links to the best banks?quantum7 wrote:I've tracked down some incredible Roland soundbanks via SYSEX and they sound fantastic. With the D-50 editor it only takes 2 seconds to load each bank. :)

Re: V-Synth XT - how to load D-50 sounds found on the Web?
IMO, the thought of loading D-50 sysx files into the XT, and then playing them of course, sounds better than what the actual outcome may be!

Looks good. Congrats on the purchase.
Man, I wouldn't trust that monitor arrangement. My cats would love to knock that over!

I'm going to say it's not possible. Those sounds are for the original D-50.

Re: change XT .prj MIDI channel
Koljaw, How is the clock input configured for the project? Is it set to Internal or MIDI clock? If the latter, then a patch will not play properly without the MIDI clock signal being received. If you are using USB for MIDI, then I don't think the timing/clock thing works right...period. I think this...

Post Some Good Reverb Recipes
I am starting to use my V-Synth XT as an external effects processor, mainly for its reverb effects. I also own and use Vahalla's Vintage Verb for in-the-box reverb, but I find that the Roland reverb algorithm is especially nice, and in some ways better for my needs. For starters, I went through the ...

Re: Original V-synth is Multitimbral right?
I would just put in a basic well set up compressor, personally and switch OFF the Reverb & Chorus. What is considered a well-setup compressor on the V-Synth? Without a gain reduction meter, or a means of receiving some sort of visual feedback with the various incoming signals (since patches var...
