Re: Replacement for the Fantom G?

Reading up on using the FantomG as a DAW controller. Found this.

Don't these guys know Roland owns Cakewalk? Why do they have a Mac running logic in the illustrations?

Re: Replacement for the Fantom G?

build that kind of daw control into a keyboard & you've got something Its kinda strange to hear you to say that when the G already has a DAW controllers/Faders already and have been used to control mixes and the like.. Im not sure adding a laptop/DAW does complicate things, since it would just ...

Re: Replacement for the Fantom G?

Fast forward to 21st century that has now all past and a laptop and controller. will do everything and more any hardware workstation could ever offer, and even if you dont want to go all down that route, if you already have any kind of workstation, the laptop can expand it way beyond what ever coul...

Re: fantom xr versus xv-5050

I own an XV-5050, a Fantom-S, and a Fantom-X88 To me, Nice Piano is the best piano on the XV-5050, So True on the Fantom-S, & it's been too long since I played the Fantom-X to remember if there's a different better Piano on it (it's on loan to someone else). So True sounds better than Nice Piano...

Re: 1 week newbie with fantom g8 - Two questions about sampl

Tempo sync does match tempo You're right. Sometimes my Fantom-S sequencer goes to sleep & doesn't wake up. For instance, there will be times when I'll set the tempo & turn on the click, but it won't start making sound, until I hit the play button. Same thing happened here. I turned on wave ...

Re: 1 week newbie with fantom g8 - Two questions about sampl

While in patch edit you need to press F6 for pro edit. Now press F2 group down to go to wave. Change the wave tempo sync to on and the sample will stay at the same speed as it changes pitch. Just to clarify (I know it's an old thread), but if "wave tempo sync" is not turned on, then the &...

Fantom-S Editor OS X 10.5

Does anyone know how to get the Fantom-S editor to work in OS X 10.5? The installer won't load, because it says the classic environment isn't supported. I down loaded the Fantom-X editor, thinking they're "similar" & that the communication would be over midi, so it should work. However...

Re: Why Do we buy workstations?

I still like the idea of a workstation. I hate the idea of tying my studio to a computer.

The only thing I think Roland needs to improve on, is midi outs. As a workstation, the idea should be that it will control several midi devices, one midi output is very limiting. 4 would be great.

Re: Better sample editor

I was wondering. I just bought an MV-8800 & think the sample editor is at least on par. I was used to the Fantom-X & it took me a while to find everything, but it's all there.

Re: Jupiter 80 VA engine - new or same as GAIA?

100% +1 to ozy's comments. Virtual Analog means ANYTHING goes.....some seek to emulate specific historic real world circuits and components....some seek to realize a circuit that has never existed....or is physically impossible or impractical. Some seek to get the best emulation with the least proc...

That was a pretty good lead guitar sound..... heck they all sounded amazing. Probably the best Jp80 tube I've seen.

Sorry can't help you find that sound.

Re: Editor/Librarian software for xp50

I know it's easier to ask here, than it is to do a google search, so I did one for you. I entered "roland xp software" in the search window & found this I also found this for the Roland JV synth... should work with an XP Looks cool http://www.soundquest.org/Windows/InstrumentGraphics/R...
