Re: Midi clock
Wouldn't the MIDI signal do a full loop back to the board it came from then? I don't know if that's problem as I've never tried that. But if it's enough that only one of the other boards get the clock signal you could connect the V-Synth's MIDI out to just that board's MIDI in. One less problem. To ...

Re: way to much percussion on tone wheel Hammond B3
I don't expect Roland to keep supporting the NX now, three years down the line, but I agree that would be nice. There are other features I miss too, like being able to assign portamento and legato on/off to the S1/S2 buttons. Or an option to have the global EQ setting persist after turning the devic...

Re: Shortcut for setting LWR and UPR split values on the RD7
Doesn't work for me. Unless i press ENTER to make the values stop blinking, they are reset when I press the arrow buttons or anything else.
I'm on version 2.0 of the firmware, but I think it was the same way in 1.4.

Re: Shortcut for setting LWR and UPR split values on the RD7
Let's see if I got it right: You want to layer two sounds, but one of them to play only on one end of the keyboard. And the way to do that is by setting the key range for each layer separately. And the shortcut to doing that is: Select Lower or Upper Key Range in Layer Edit. Strike the highest and l...

Re: RD-700NX System Program Version 2.00 available
It looks like the new user live sets are just copies of presets (like the old ones were), so there's no reason not to just overwrite them by loading your old live set file. In any case, you can use the factory reset function to restore individual live sets.

Re: RD-700NX System Program Version 2.00 available
What happens when you restore the old 100 live sets after upgrading? Does it overwrite some of the new live sets that the update added? .. And does it also overwrite the One Touch (gray buttons) sounds? I'm just trying to figure out if I need to write down the settings of my most important live sets...

Re: how to assign pedals?
For SA E.Piano 1 you only need to assign MFX2 SW to the pedal. When you hold SHIFT and press the pedal, you will see that the S2 button is already assigned to the same function. MFX2 SW for the pedal is at the end of the list, number 140.

Re: how to assign pedals?
It depends on what you mean by vibrato, and which Tone or Live Set you want it on. The quick way to assign a controller is to hold the SHIFT button and then use the controller. This works for pedals too; hold SHIFT and press the pedal. But you might have to select a vibrato effect in Tone Edit for i...

By the way, I think probably the best place to look for this kind of information is the digital piano forum at pianoworld.com, where both these instruments have been discussed many times :)

Re: Reasons to pick RD-700NX over FP-7F?
I own an NX, but only know FP-7F from reading about it. I think the things I would miss most if I used the 7F instead would be the pitch bend stick and the programmable faders, as there are some usable solo sounds on the NX (try On Air or Calliope2). I would probably not miss the other SN sounds, si...

Re: Midi driver installation issue (RD700NX, Win7 - 32bit)
I don't know, but it's possible that the driver was needed with older versions of Windows and they just haven't stopped providing it when newer versions of Windows came along. Maybe they have a pointy-haired boss at Roland, who knows.

Re: Midi driver installation issue (RD700NX, Win7 - 32bit)
I just let Windows use its generic driver, no problems with that. But if the Roland driver enables extra features or something, I would like to know.
