Re: Any XV5080 users now using Integra-7?
Loved the guitar stories Monk, except for the losing a wife part! Bummer! Fortunately I still have my second electric, a 1978 Yamaha SG2000 that I bought that year and still plays mean. I have collected a few since then, two Jacksons (one, a beautiful red USA Super Strat with Floyd Rose) and finally...

Re: Any XV5080 users now using Integra-7?
... and in order to keep the JD (which has to stay) Whoa! What JD? Are you saying there is a JD in the mix as well? Which one? We has to know! Yes, I would dearly miss the SR-JV80-13 (Vocal Collection) if I were to ditch the XV-5080. They included a few of those Spectrasonics sounds on one of the S...

Re: Any XV5080 users now using Integra-7?
Even though I have an I-7, I would not ever consider getting rid of my XV-5080 because of several things. Yes there are a lot of sounds that are redundant with an I-7, but there are some choice patches that I still use a lot that are from the trusty old SR-JV80 expansion boards that are NOT on the S...

I got a real chuckle out of this one! Sorry you had to pay 20 bleedin' BP's for yours as I think I only had to pay 23USD, but I still think there is plenty to be chuffed about even for the extra coinage. To be fair I did state that my main focus was some of the ethnic sounds and I think cello mainly...

Re: I love how my new V-Synth XT looks in my home studio
The XT looks spectacular amidst all of those sweet monitors. Just imagine how it sounds!
As for the cats...yes, they can be quite nefarious when they get bored or angry.
This is the only P-Kat ever allowed in the Soundworld...

Re: gt vs xt vs mk1
Welcome to the Clan RP, I believe the GT also has more effects. As Paulo has already given a rundown on some of the finer points between the different models, I will give a more perspective view. I have 2 GT's and an XT and I wouldn't think for a moment of selling any of them. The majority of my Sou...

Re: New JP-80 sounds - Arps
Bully for that! Thanks NG. While I don't have time to play around with any of these due to incessant travel, I do appreciate the fact that Roland has devoted some time lately to throw us a few bones for our Jupiter-80's. I am one of those who appreciated the sound of the eight zero as it is...these ...

Re: It was a hard decision
Do you find using the touch screen pretty intuitive for creating your own sounds? As others have said as well, creating on the V-Synth can be a very rewarding experience, and the touch screens make it that much more of a snap. The colour layout (Com/OSC1/OSC2/Mod/COSM1/COSM2/TVA/APSyn/Effect) with ...

Re: It was a hard decision
Another big advantage with the GT besides the extra effects and 4 extra voices is the addition of AP-S. The realism provided on the horns and stringed instruments is a big plus to me. I also have an XT in addition to my two GT's and they have become my workhorses in the Soundworld along with the OAS...

Re: [D-70] What is DLM?
From the elegant full colour 10-page brochure from May '92: DLM (Differential Loop Modulation) lets you create your own customized waveforms for synthesis. DLM's start point and loop length parameters allow you to specify the part of a waveform you want to use. Then complex looping functions using a...

Re: change XT .prj MIDI channel
This reminds me somewhat of an enigmatic and mysterious Stout project euphemistically known as "The Tommy". Jim Stout had originally delivered many projects to me and I did not do much with them as I didn't even have the librarian up and running yet. After cello and I started assembling th...
