Re: RE: New Fantom Model Question (help?)
@Gman I dont see the benefit of another keyboard from roland without a sampler and sequencer.. I mean if you want to go down that road.. you can just get an FA which is essentially that.. the fantom concept is its RPS Sequencer and sampler.. and all its patch, live and performance modes and its load...

Re: RE: New Fantom Model Question (help?)
Cheap alternative is everything else roland have released since dropping the Fantom G especially the FA series which falls short of what the fantom g already offers.. the only thing they have that the G does not is built in supernatural But at the end of the day who care if its super natural or not....

Re: RE: New Fantom Model Question (help?)
A new fantom? without a sequencer? Not a fantom. The Sequencer/DAW RPS is the the most powerfull part of the Fantom especially the G and make it a Power house.. Without a Sequencer you are going to have tether it to a computer which takes away the whole idea of the fantom. as far as new sounds go.. ...

Re: Patches no sound
Could be you have Local off which will stop you from playing any sounds from the keybed..
test: in performance/mixer mode play any keys and see if that channel lights up to indicate midi..
if it does not then local is off
if it does then its your sound path or levels need to be reset.

Re: New owner of a V-synth v2.0
@hamburger_helper You have 2 options 1) Initialize or 2) edit existing patch Either way which ever you choose, you then edit either Osc1 or Osc2 select PCM and choose your sample number from the waveform list. After that its just a matter of tweaking all other parameters and then save your patch fro...

Re: First gig with my V
Theres realy not any good reason to need drivers at all for the V.
Midi can be done with a standard midi->usb cable
usb storage mode is universal standard
Both of these require no drivers and thats the full extent of the vsynths connectivity so drivers should not be an issues.

Re: Memory Full In One Project
I have experienced this too and found the following to be true.. Cause: This appears to be a USB cable conflict issue. I have had this problem several times when trying to save to USB. Usualy I have the computer on and the Fantom G is connected via USB. For some reason the Fantom USB bus is hijacked...

Re: Boot time Fantom X vs. G
In general the G takes seconds rather than minutes to load and everything else is also faster on the G.

Re: v-synth vs vsynth gt sound wise ? any difference
I have both v2 and v xt and to be honest the XT is king.. even better than the GT... gt is a pig to program and you can layer upto 12 patches on the xt and v2 but not the GT.. XT is KING and you get 3 in 1 synths.. vsynth, D50 and Vocoder..
How can you loose with this power house?

Im using it. and there is alot of work gone into this project, the video makes it look so fluid that unless you actually using it your only seeing whats on the surface which yes for the most part looks like its nothing than a glorified project.. There is alot of clever stuff going on under the hood ...

Re: NEWS!: Coming Soon!
If you mean to use the pads like controler. yes its possible but then you gong in the opposite direction as to what NewLife is intended.. which is to take away the need to use ableton.
However if your looking to export the entire performance loop from the Fantom to ableton, that too is possible.

Re: NEWS!: Coming Soon!
Nothing to it realy.... Its all about how you feel Some people start with a beat.. and start getting a feel from there some are Bass poeple, others prefer chord/pads or lead.. Its just the same as building a regular song except wtih NewLife you can do it all in a real-time performance so you never h...

Re: NEWS!: Coming Soon!
Someone on fantom X forum asked for some further info and spec so here they are which are the same for the fantom G version. As with the video, the upgrade is self intuitive Everything is recorded as midi in Mixer/Performance mode. You have a total of 13 slots as follows... Backing group: 1 Bass pad...
