Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Will it be a VST for this Editor? No. I don't use VSTs and have no idea how to write a VST. Also in order to write a VST I would need to provide personal data to Steinberg (who owns the VST API) and enter in a contractual agreement with them, which is not something I want to do. This is a stand-alo...

Re: JD Xi Cubase 8 Presets/Banks/Scripts
To change Program you need to send Bank select and Program select MIDI messages to channel 16 (or more precisely to the MIDI channel configured in Menu->System->ProgRx/TxCh, default is 16).
The correct Bank and Program numbers are listed in the manual.

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
The JDXi Manager can already be used as a librarian, at least for Tones. With the JDXi Manager you can save individual Tones to the hard disk of your PC where you can organize them in folders however you prefer. I know some users of the JDXi Manager who use it this way. True, this could be made more...

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Update: I have tested the features random patch generator it is super cool! As it can be MIDI tempo synchronized, I created a drum loop and the analog patch was synched with the drums, resulting in interesting musical pieces. Some was much close to Pink Floyd's On The Run song! I'm glad you like it...

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Good news! Waiting for the randomic patch fearure! I have just released version 0.26 which features a random patch generator for the Analog Synth part. Don't expect too much from it though, most random patches sound more like special effects from a Sci-Fi movie, not so much like polished musical so...

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
A new release (0.25) of the JDXi Manager is out available now. The main change is the added Effects editor window. The Effects editor was quite tricky to implement as the Roland JD-Xi documentation of the MIDI implementation of the effects section is very incomplete and buggy. Here is a brief summar...

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Good news! Waiting for the randomic patch fearure! The way I stored the data about the valid range for each parameter in the JDXi Manager makes a random patch feature non trivial. In hindsight I should have stored that data differently but as things are a random patch feature will require quite a b...

Re: Any chance for additional filter types?
I can not find it in any official document by Roland and it seems strange that Roland is giving details about the analog LPFs (JD-XA) but not for the digital LPFs (JD-XA/i). I think they wrote it in the Integra7 or Jupiter-80 docs, I remember reading it in some official Roland doc but can't recall ...

Re: Any chance for additional filter types?
could only find that ther are 4 of them (LPF1-4) As mentioned the digital part of JD-Xi has 7 filter types: LPF1, LPF2, LPF3, LPF4, BPF, HPF, PKG But I dont know if this information is correct and are these the same for the JD-Xi? What is LPF1 type? JP-80? All Roland synths with the Supernatural Sy...

Re: Any chance for additional filter types?
The digital parts of the JD-Xi (which you are surely referring to as it's obviously impossible to add more filters with a firmware update to the analog part) have 7 filter types (LPF1, LPF2, LPF3, LPF4, BPF, HPF, PKG). Which filters are you missing? In any case it is very unlikely that Roland will a...

Re: Would you still buy one?
As the JD-Xi was released in January 2015 (almost 3 years ago), would you still buy one or would you rather wait to see if a new New Thing is forthcoming? Any rumors? I haven't heard of any rumors related to an update or successor. If you are really concerned about that then just wait until January...

Re: Would you still buy one?
Yes, I'd definitely buy it (I bought mine in spring 2015 as soon as it was available locally), for me the JD-Xi is a long-term keeper and there is still nothing else out there that offers such a compelling package at this price point, i.e. it's deep (using an editor), it sounds great, and it's price...

Change the Kit Level on the JD-Xi.
press Drums > press Menu > select 'Tone Edit' > press Enter > select 'Kit Level' > change the value with '+ or '-'

Re: JD-Xi MIDI Implementation
I think you need to ask that the makers of 60KNOBS, they are the ones who can tell you if the 60KNOBS is flexible enough to support the JD-Xi sysex format.
