I refuse to use DAW unless I 'm composing symphony for whole orchestra, and since probably that never will happen I'll stick to on board sequencer.

Bottom line is that Roland has raised the bar with this new Fantom.

not sure about that, because right now there is actually no competitors for fantom G. Both korg and yamaha don't give a damn about on board sequencing/sampling anymore leaving it to computer.

I'm doing it sequentially. First I switched from fantom X6 to motif XS6 and now I'll do last switch from XS6 to fantom G8.

but since the X was almost perfect, as to me, and they fixed even those imperfections (like more MFX, true patch remain, project-based setup, etc.) and added some more goodies, the G is definitely the greatest Roland board ever. G8 will complete my setup: S90ES will be replaced by fantom G8
which will stand right against my motif XS6. Best workstation in pair with best sounding keyboard.

well, I don't think so that G will beat the XS in terms of sounds, but other features for sure since many already were better in fantom X.
