There are some optical mice that work but they are hit or miss.
Plus you you need a use a PS/2 to USB adapter with the USB mice on either MV's.

Like Soul one stated, the MV Tact Switches are no longer available. The tact switches that are needed for the MV are OMRON part #B3F-6022 which is a 6mm x 6mm x 5mm / Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) / 2 leads. The only difference is that these tact switches are square where the MV tacts are circular...

As for the floppy, there isn't another form of hardware to replace it. it's got a weird ribbon cable.
You can add a CF card reader but you won't be able to use the hard drive. The MV accepts one or the other but not both.

Is the sensitivity still there with the mixture of pads?

Yep it uses MIDI.

The TR-808's have DIN Sync but you can buy MIDI kits to mod it.

The MPC Editor program is good but it doesn't have the options that MV Kit Creator Pro has.
I still use both programs on my Mac.

Me personally, I like using Kingston RAM.
But like you stated... using 1GB of RAM in the MV makes it very unstable. Lots of glitches. I tried 1GB for about a week and went back to the 512MB stick of RAM.
