Re: Midi Connection Issue with Reason 7 / Fantom X8
Wow, strange problem. I run Reason with a Fantom X8 and an old M-Audio Firewire interface. Not the same as your interface, of course, but just to illustrate that this shouldn't happen. Can't imagine that the MIDI interface somehow generates data that Reason interprets as a "beep/bonk". Hav...

Re: FA-06/08 Availability?
Ah, so that is what it was! I saw the keyboard as well and was wondering what it could be, had the lit pads of a Fantom, but another column of lit buttons or pads next to it.
Thanks, Jimmy for clearing that up.

Re: Hi, Should I buy Fantom X6? My first hardware gear.
If all you are used to are software synths and a controller keyboard, a Fantom is definitely going to be a change and in a good way. The immediacy of playing the Fantom and modifying the sound as you play will so capture you that hours will go by and you will realize that you were so caught up in th...

Re: Slight portamento confusion
Hey tuz, This post is a little old so you probably figured this out already. There are two "Portamento Modes", Normal and Legato. Patch B:068 is set to Normal which is why it works as you desire. Patch D:040 is set to Legato so it doesn't. Simply edit patch D:040 to switch Portamento Mode ...

Re: Why are you interested in Synthesizers?
My official answer is that I was an electrical engineer involved in the design of radios for which the digital synthesizer was always one of the most difficult parts of the design. It required the most skill to come up with the purest possible tone. So when I discovered the existence of audio synthe...

Thanks, Paulo. But just now I feel like I am the baby in the room and the JP-80 is the adult.

Exactly what gets backed up?
As a new JP-80 owner, I'm still trying to understand the basic architecture so this question is really simple. What does the Backup to USB flash drive save? The manual says all the "settings" currently saved to the internal memory are duplicated to the USB drive. Sounds good, but just to b...

Thanks, synth freak!
First day the board was here, I played so late into the night my hands were stiff the next morning. Desperately trying to get a few more hours with it during the week. As people on this board have been saying, this thing is a wonder.

Re: Analog Input Question
Thanks guys! Here I've had the MIX IN and LEVEL knob staring me in the face for all these years and it never occurred to me to make use of it. Got to get back in the habit of visiting the Clan more often.

Re: Roland weirdness
Ran across this interesting post. Tried it on my Fantom, but must not be following instructions correctly because I don't hear any weird note. Tried it with a couple of different patches.
