Re: 64bit support?

There probably isn't a great deal of difference to Vista 64 and Windows 7 64. With as fast as they are producing this new OS, to me it just sounds like an overhaul to the Vista kernel with some streamlining. Roland should be able to produce 64 bit drivers to be compatible with both OSes.

Re: Eight-core systems...

I have a dual core 2.0ghz Macbook and it is doing everything I need it to. I'm really impressed with Mac. I can not IMAGINE doing ANY audio work on a PC again. The thought of it actually sends shivers up my spine.

Re: SH 201 vs ES1

<t>My very limited experience with ES1 coupled with my occasional use of my SH-201 would suggest that the ES1 may have some different tonal characteristics than the SH-201 and vice versa. Not necessarily better or worse than each other.<br/> <br/> The most obvious advantage the SH-201 has is knobby ...

Re: Just got my G7!!!

I'm pretty much in the same boat too:

G7 and Mac. I have an SH-201 that I hook up on occasion but it is usually in its case.

Then there is the harmonium and ragini machine which simulates the Indian Tanpura, but that is more my acoustic side.

Re: Dan Krisher Video for Odd Time Signatures!!!

Nice one Dan. I'm fairly certain I'll be playing with some odd time signatures in the future, so this video really hit the spot.

Re: Who's going to see the new "Trek..."?

<t>Maybe I'm weird, but I don't mind "reboots" as it were. I have absolutely no problems with studios deciding that they need to make a new movie with new actors playing old characters. I say go for it.<br/> <br/> This goes along the same lines of another forgiveness of mine. Specifically when some ...

Re: Announcement: FG Connects Project

<t>I'd like to report some kind of odd bug. I tried opening the file using the default zip program that Apple uses and it created. After that, I copied the .prj folder to the root directory of my flash drive. When dropping it into my Fantom G, it saw two folders:<br/> <br/> ._fgconnects.prj<br/> fgc...

Re: Synth to accompany my G6

<t>The fact is, the V-Synth has always been under appreciated, simply because it actually requires work to get results. You have to tweak it. That is one instrument that you do not want to rely on presets with. The real strength with the V-Synth relies in using your own samples to mangle. This is so...

<t>I think we may be looking at the wrong symptoms about why we aren't happy.<br/> <br/> Without getting all philosophical on everyone, I personally think that materiality and the concept of owning things can not possibly make us completely happy. All these things are tools we use, nothing more. <br...

Re: Question on Mastering - maximum average output level

<t>Jessej,<br/> <br/> I know so little about the concept of mastering. Apart from just googling and looking at wikipedia which I have done in the past and am still lost, do you have any suggestions on where I can get some solid neophyte type information on mastering / compression, etc?<br/> <br/> I ...
