Re: The never-ending "use your DAW" argumentation
And with an incomplete sequencer... it's ok, if you find ways to use it. You use the word PC or DAW as if that part of life could not change while others can change, you say. It's a bit hard to follow the argument, but I just assume that is too unrealistic to think of a workstation keyboard that st...

Re: The never-ending "use your DAW" argumentation
Some people just can't handle dissent and critics. I have met plenty of those who fanboy for companies. Do you buy also cars with a 900PS engine but only three tires and then wait for an update, because "the company" can't invest in such a minor detail? In my world you have to work for a ...

Re: The never-ending "use your DAW" argumentation
but when it comes to MIDI recording they FAIL to implement even the most basic editing options Fantom indeed includes "the most basic editing options". Maybe you can't even play keyboards, I don't really know. What I do know is you haven't used a Fantom and don't understand the new workfl...

Re: The never-ending "use your DAW" argumentation
First, the Fantom workflow. You can delete notes in the piano roll or use real time erase(that's what I use). You overdub new notes back into the track. The current state of the Fantom sequencer does challenge me to play things correctly in real time, so I don't need heavy editing. It is what it is 2...

Re: NEVER AGAIN A JUPITER
The Jupiter had 2500 live sets and you could import/export singles as well as the whole machine. It was not very elegant and it required pen & paper but basic functionality was there and pretty much every other keyboard works like that. My Kronos doesn't have a librarian and I'm still using pen ...

Re: NEVER AGAIN A JUPITER
I assumed... You've used that word twice to complain about Jupiters. IMO Roland delivered on everything they said it was plus more. It certainly had it's limitations but I found many ways to work around it. Instead of getting worked up over the actual methods employed by VA and SN-A instruments I j...

Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?
We are talking about the fact that the new Fantom doesn't have the ability to load multisamples (yet again thanks to Roland inability to offer the same functions as the competition does for the last 25 years) and not about what can be used instead. Yeah it's been over a decade since they built anyt...

Re: Requests to Roland (official)
1. While in pattern utility, pressing record key exits utility and back into record.
2. Assign sequencer groups to the pads. Be able to select per pad if one shot or loops. The idea is to arrange the sequence on the fly.

Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?
I use a Kronos 2 as my sampler :) I'm not sure you've thought this through. You'll get your sampler out of Roland then same folks will complain there's not enough storage. 30Gb was a limitation for Kronos owners 7 years ago. The sampler is the simplest thing to replace...we all work very differently...

Why not continue to use your Kronos as sampler?Fourfiftyfour wrote:As a Kronos,Triton and ASR-10 owner I gotta say multi-sampling is a necessity.

Re: Have I got this right?
I believe Roland has recognized some things are better done in a host. Everyone works differently but the thing most have in common is the DAW. Players that don't own synths yet likely use a DAW. Buy a Fantom and it's going to work with your stuff. The alternative is to abandon everything you've bee...

Re: Have I got this right?
You got the gist. Fantom G was a very capable machine, no doubt. I'm a little curious how the machine performed with 100+ tracks of midi plus 24 tracks audio running simultaneously. I could give you an even bigger list of benefits the new Fantom has over the G but I think you know what they are alre...
